“Convenient Location, Always Clean, and Usually Quite Empty and Quiet”

We have stayed at this Hampton Inn in Greenville SC many times over the years whenever passing through the area. It is very spacious with 2 distinct buildings sharing a common lobby. The accommodations have always been super clean and the place is usually empty when we are there on weekends. It is conveniently adjacent to I-85 but you can not hear the highway from the rooms. It has a small outdoor pool area and spacious lobby (larger than most Hamptons) and of course breakfast is included. If you go down early in the morning you will notice many airline flight crews also stay there on a consistent basis.

Along with a few other similar hotels, there are also several large chain restaurants in the complex which are only a short walk to. There is also ample parking available on all 3 sides of the building for those traveling with trucks, motor homes or campers. The one drawback is the wireless internet over the years has remained horrible which can be quite frustrating, as the PC off the lobby is even worse when trying to connect. Other than that, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone in the area looking for a quiet and spacious place to stay at a reasonable rate.

Room Tip: Avoid Ground Floor rooms if you want to sleep in late on Sunday as they often rent out one of their...

“Nice hotel close to airport with free shuttle”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2011

The facility in Greenwood, SC that I was visiting for 5 days booked this hotel for me for one night, together with the Hampron Inn at Greenwood. To get to the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport, from Australia you have to fly Sydney to LAX, to O'Hare Chicago!! then the regional jet to Greenville-Spartanburg. This is ike 30 hours door to door, arriving very late at night. Unfortunately the airports free phone to motel wasn't working (this seems to happen a lot in the US!) and my mobile phone didn't work but some nice lady saw me trying to get through and phoned through for a shuttle for me, and it arrived in about 10 minutes with genuinely friendy and cheerful driver, even though it was late at night.

It was a relief to get to the hotel, quick and efficient checkin, and no problem for a late checkout at 2pm. The bed was great and great shower with lots of hot water. The breakfast was included in the tariff and was typical Hampton Inn, and for me, very good, with plenty of cereals, fruit, etc. The hote dish was too sweet and salty for me, but probably typical for the US.

Overall impression was great staff, friendly shuttle driver, nice rooms - highly recommended

“Convenient to airport, comfortable rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2011

We stayed here after a late evening arrival at the Greenville-Spartanburg airport. Could have used the hotel's shuttle service, but we had a rental car so didn't need it. The desk clerk advised us that there was a soccer team staying there, so we got a room far from their rooms. Room was a standard Hampton Inn room. Comfortable. Free breakfast buffet was fine. Wi-Fi was free but, as noted, slow. In order to do laundry, I had to go next door to the Fairfield Suites, with which the Hampton Inn had an arrangement in this regard (be sure the Hampton calls in advance; you have to give the Fairfield your Hampton room key and get one to get into the laundry room, so if you go back to your Hampton room while the washing is being done, be sure to have a spare).

“You get what you pay for here, cheap”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2011 via mobile

Hotel is dated and feels like it could be redone. The airport van is disgusting and run down. People were pleasant and the only reason it was bearable. Room was under $90 and that was nice considering I just needed a quick place to stay but I wouldn't recommend or return.

“Wonderful service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 July 2011

I was here on business with Michelin and absolutely love this hotel. The employees are great, the shuttle to/from the airport is great, and the location is great! The reception on Monday night is wonderful. They have two types of chicken, along with wings, chips, and drinks.

As previously mentioned by another person, the wireless Internet is slow, but if you call the toll-free number, they can give you additional bandwidth if needed which satisfied my need. They do need to update their business center computer though as it is slow.

The breakfast is typical for a Hampton, but they have recently added hard-boiled eggs too. I usually just grab some fruit, yogurt, cereal, and now a hard-boiled egg.

I have recommened this hotel to my fellow colleagues as the rooms are clean and the staff is great! Looking forward to coming back at the beginning of June!
