I stayed here for business. Let's get right to the breakdown:
Pro's:
- Good location next to I-85
- Nice concierge lounge
- Comfortable beds
- Flat screen TV's
Con's
- I reserved a king bed room. When I arrived, I was told they were all sold out of king bed rooms and I could have a double bed room or a handicap accessible king room. Ugh! I hate that. If you're going to take the time to frequent a hotel chain and become a gold member in their frequent reward program, you should get the room you reserved!
- Rooms quite small. I thought I was in europe.
- This hotel has gone 7 years since it's last overhaul and it needs it now. Carpets are getting a bit thread bare, walls are dinged up and furniture needs to be replaced.
- Rooms are surprisingly noisy. I could hear everything, and I mean everything, the couple next door to me were saying and doing.
- Probably the worst breakfast buffet I've seen in 20 years. The food was cold, bland and tasteless. Worst of all, it was $16.
To sum up, this hotel is well below par for a Marriott hotel.
To those who read my reviews, you know that I'm quite partial to the Marriott branded hotels. So, to say that I was quite disappointed with this hotel is an understatement. Next time I'm here I'll probably stay at the Courtyard down the road rather than this full service Marriott.
