Outstanding value for the price!
Im a big fella. 6'5" and had plenty of room in both the suite and most importantly the shower! 8' shower heads are rare, even at the high dollar chains.
The room was very clean. It also had queen bed, LCD tv, Stove, Full refrigerator, Microwave, DISHwasher, Kitchen sink along with full diner ware sets, pots and pans, all you ever need and more for an extended stay. All for ~ 70/ a night! Try that at Hyatt or extended stay america.
The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating! I was greeted during check in with a free social time that included soft beverages chips, dip and other little munchies. Beer was available for purchase as well.
I cannot say enough about what a great stay i had. I travel frequently for work and it was very refreshing to find this place. Which is NOT difficult to find if you can read signs and follow maps to its door. If you booked a reservation, wouldnt you map it? I can see trying just to "find it" at night without directions would be hard, but i guess Its just me who plans ahead when on the road.
My cell phone was on the fritz and used the long distance in my room. I was charged $3.00 a call.
The next night at a Hyatt in Columbia SC, i payed $9.00 a minute!!!!
although long distance is pricey at a hotel, i find 3 a call much more reasonable.
The only cons i can say that someone would find is,
I had a not requested wake up call at 5am. They apologized profusely!
suppose that was an oops on the auto attendant.
If you are a ardent nonsmoker and whine at the smell of smoke, go elsewhere, there are non smoking and smoking rooms available. but smoke does travel and you cannot hold a hotel responsible for the ignorance and lack of respect of its patrons.
Frankly even non smokers like myself are tired of hearing your complaints when you are 100% aware going in that smoking is allowed.
Go pay $100+ a night at the holiday inn express next door, they are completely smoke free and you will not get 1/4 of the amenities available at this place.
All in all the carpets were a bit dated and so was the mattress. The mattress was comfortable and so were the pillows. but im sure someone will find it less than visually appealing as it was not quilted nor Martha steward fru fru type of decorative "stuff" about the lobby or room.
Visually compared to a Hyatt or other high dollar chain it cannot compete. Yet if you are looking for a lot for your hard earned buck, are practical and just want a nice place to stay and be greeted by friendly staff. This is a great place for you.
I will use it again. I wish there were more.
