We went here this past summer. 8/7/12. I went with my aunt, uncle, and two cousin. I enjoyed my time there but there were a few problems.

First off, we took a 15 passenger van so we would have plenty of room for the 10hr trip. We got there and it would not fit under the parking area. We had to park out by the road. So be careful if your taking a big van.

Secondly, the elevators are VERY slow. That is the longest time ive waited for an elevator. They also feel old and not safe.

Thirdly, the area by the indoor pool entrance/ elevator is VERY wet and slimy so be careful.

Our floor in our room was sticky and felt like it hadnt been cleaned in months.

This stuff didnt bother me that much because we had a breath taking view. We were at the beach most of the time so I was good.

This was our first visit to Royal Garden Resort our room was outstanding we had everything we needed The view was great and the Dunes Realty employees were very professional we plan to return next year and hope to get Unit 703 again.

Must admit that after reading so many bad reviews that we were pleasantly surprised. Maybe it was because we rented from a private ownner through Dunes realty or because we went in October, but we had a wonderful stay in room #214. Our 2bed/2bath condo had a great ocean view. was clean & provided all we needed. Walks on the beach & sunrises over the ocean were spectacular. Only .7 mi to the pier gave us a destination each day. our only bad comment was the pizza place next door, (Garden City Beach Pizza) was the worst pizza we ever had & over priced.

I booked Room 1604 after taking a virtual tour online. When I got there I got a package for room 1608. (It had fewer beds.) The manager was rude and told me to "take it or leave it."
I have never been talked to so rudely. Why does this resort let you view and book the room you want, but when you get there they can give you a different room with fewer beds? I did not get what I paid for, and we were short one bed.
I was told the owners decided to come down and stay there.I was also told that I was not promised room 1604, but only a 3 bedroom apt. The woman that took my reservation asked me which room I wanted and I told her and she booked it.
If the owners did decide to come down, the Resort should have told them their apt. was booked! I wish I could talk to the owner of room 1604 and see if this is true. Does anyone out there know how to get in touch with the owner of room 1604?
Our son had to sleep on a terrible pull out couch that was not comfortable, and 3 women had to sleep in a king size bed. The room we had booked had 1 king, 3 queen, and a twin bed. The room they gave us had 2 king beds and 2 twin beds.(That's a big difference!) I tried to work with the manager, but she was extremly hateful and rude. I have read other reviews about the rude managers, so please beware. I hope this review will help others out there. Please do not book here, because they will give you whatever room they please.
I just want everyone that reads this to know this could happen to you, and that I started my vacation off in tears.
