I stayed at this Sleep Inn on August 8, 2009 while attending a family reunion in nearby Sharon, SC. Check-in was no problem, although if you pay for your room with cash, you have to pay an extra but refundable $50.00 fee; this is not the case for credit cards. Upon entering my room and turning on the a/c unit, it made this horrible buzzing noise about every 3 minutes. I promptly went back to the front desk and Ami, the manager, gave us another room. Sleep Inn rooms are very small as far as hotels rooms go, but the room was clean with a nice flat screen TV. The free high-speed Internet worked well. The hotel is right beside the interstate, and there is no wall or barrier to muffle the constant buzz of cars, trucks, motorcycles, etc. If you are a light sleeper, this could be problematic. Also, I have come to know Sleep Inn as the hotel with the thin walls. Without even trying, you can easily hear conversations, running water, crying babies, the TV, and other activities going on in the next room; this can also be a problem if you are a light sleeper. The hot breakfast was good, especially the brand new waffle maker machine. There were also sausage, eggs, biscuits, and hash browns. The fruit was not fresh and should have been left off of the menu. The bananas were soft and brown, and the oranges were the tiniest I've ever seen, almost like a cherry orange, if there is such a fruit !! The hotel is 5 minutes away from a popular and well-known outlet mall, so you can shop until you drop if you'd like. While the hotel was convenient and clean, and the service was good, unless I can help it, I don't know if I would stay at anymore Sleep Inns because of the small rooms and thin walls. It was not worth the price ($98.00 plus tax).
