“Good value, Friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012 via mobile

I stayed here last night and thought it was a nice hotel for the price. I only needed a place for one night that was convenient to the highway and this was perfect. There are plenty of restaurants in the area as well as places to shop, so if you're staying for a few days there are lots of options.

The hotel is pet friendly, for $20, which I found reasonable. The continental breakfast was decent and overall I was pleased with my experience. I would definitely stay here again.

we stayed here for a night on our way to FLA. Chose it because they took pets. The two double beds were pretty small and there was a strong bug spray odor in the room. Nothing special. It was within walking distance to a mall and some restaurants which was a plus.

“Unbelievably Wonderful For A Great Price!”

After a long day driving on I95, we decided to stop in Florence, SC for the night. The Quality Inn had a "walk-in" coupon in the hotel coupon book that you get at the SC Welcome Center. ($59.99 for one night Sun.-Thurs.). The receptionist couldn't have been nicer. She was able to give us a first floor room. We weren't sure what to expect for such a low price, but were amazed at the room....King Bed, Sofa Bed, Flat Screen TV, Fridge, Microwave, Free Safe, Soft Towels, Free Wi-Fi, Coffee Maker, and lots of Toiletries! Breakfast as delicious... even had waffles! Our only problem was that the candy vending machine was broken....and that was not a big deal! An added bonus was that the hotel is right near several restaurants (IHop, Olive Garden, Outback, etc.) and dozens of stores (Barnes & Noble, Target, Kohls, Home Depot, etc.) It's right off I95. The Civic Center and a gas station are also nearby. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: No elevator...so if you're carrying a big bag, ask for a first floor room.

“Should've kept driving...”

Driving back from FL with my two little daschunds. Got tired at this point and looked for a pet-friendly place. Georgia, on the way down was a breeze. South Carolina? Not so much. When I pulled up to the entry and saw there was a check-in window with plastic and a tray (as in gas station), I knew better but I inquired anyway. Rates were high and an extra charge ( $82 plus $20 for the pets). Too tired to keep hunting. BIG MISTAKE. Creepy outside entrydoor to room in the back of the bldg (felt unsafe parking/staying here as a lone female.) The window heat a.c. kept switching on and off -- and after I showered and tried to fall asleep, I hoped it would stay on to drown out a horrendous droning sound which seemed to be coming from the walls. There was nobody in either room on either side of me. WHAT THE HECK WAS IT???? Even the dogs didn't sleep thru it -- it was a nightmare. I should've demanded my money back for a wasted nite. Instead, I got up after no sleep and headed out by 6:30 a.m. after checking out the plastic food they offered as their "free breakfast." Explained my terrible night to "Iricha" at front desk and she barely muttered an apology back; as tho she knew it was a problem already - no offer to discount the nite or ANYTHING. My first and last night at a so-called "Quality" Inn. DON'T STOP HERE if you want to sleep and have a decent breakfast (how do you screw up a banana but it was bad, too). UGH. I am just now seeing posts about robberies here. I can see how/why. A DUMP.

Room Tip: Its on 95 - there are no quiet rooms

“Very hard to work with....”

We stopped at this hotel on our way back from Disney, just for the night. We usually stay at a Comfort Suites but there was not one close by that would take a kitten. As I checked in at 9pm there was a man on the phone, behind the desk, with a credit card company explaining they had charged a person's card twice and needed to have it fixed, first warning bell. I checked in and handed the woman my credit card , informed her of our pet and she handed me 2 keys.
When we arrived in the room there were 2 double beds , though on the website it stated for a family of five, 2 adults and 3 kids, we would need a crib or rollaway, we chose rollaway, it was not there, second warning bell. The next morning my husband's card had been charged and my card had been charged. We spoke with our bank and they informed us to have the front desk fax them , on company letterhead, the exact amount, our card number and have the front desk sign the sheet and they would immediately remove the charge. I wrote all of this down and sent my husband to the front desk thinking this shouldn't be a problem, boy was I wrong! The young woman stated the manager would not be in that morning but it would be taking care of first thing Monday morning. On Monday it was not taken care of so I called and spoke with Amil. He kept stating over and over the charge was reversed and I kept explaining to him our bank requires a fax to stop the duplicate charges not a reversal. This first phone call was at 8:30am, by 12 noon still no resolution. My husband calls back and gets the AGM, who states the same thing and again my husband stated how our bank handles things. They then proceeded with a three way call where the Bank TOLD the AGM that he did need to fax a sheet just as I had stated. He said fine and hung up. By 3pm it still was not done and our bank stated that they had to post both charges. I am furious, if they had just done as the bank requested I would not be out additional money, let alone they charged for a rollaway we never received! I even called Corporate who basically stated make a dispute thru your bank it will be quicker and that CS rep's name was Mark at [--], what a joke this company has turned into!
I have posted many reviews on TripAdvisor and when the services are good I will sing their praises but in this case I will not change my mind. The entire sequence was messed up by the hotel not listening to the customer nor the bank. I am not out to stiff the hotel but I DO NOT want to be charged twice for services! We have crossed this hotel off our books for our return trip to Florida in January 2012 and June 2012. I would rather drive straight thru than deal with this hotel , again.
