This was a NASTY scary hotel.
Days Inn, you need to see this one 'cause U are close to getting sued in the future lest U tend to this matter.
I am a loyal Days Inn guest. I've worked for Days Inn in the past. I KNOW what Days Inn Corporation expects.
The Days Inn Suites in Columbia, SC (Garner's Ferry Rd) was NOT a Days Inn. It was a nasty civilian nightmare out of the movie "Deliverance." There was NO hot water in my room, but I DID like the huge bathtubs. My room itself was cool. It was big and clean and quiet so no complaints there. The rest of the hotel was a drag. The pool was dirty and had a dead animal in it, I believe it was a POSSUM!
Staying here reminded me of that episode of "Married With Children" when the Bundy family goes to a nasty hotel in Florida and find it not to their expectations.
What made an otherwise nice vacation bad for me was when the front desk clerk, a young man, made it a point to inform me he was a homosexual. What does this have to do with me being a guest and him being a clerk at the Day's Inn? I was insulted he was trying to get guests to discriminate against him, so he could sue the hotel. That is what I felt. I was a paralegal so I know people do this. PLUS, homosexuality is usually frowned upon by Southerners and Christians, who comprise most of this area. I felt like this man was pushing his nasty sick lifestyle on ME and I felt threatened by it.
First of all, lets FIRE him, clean up and repair the hotel and get some freakin' hot water. I am a US Marine who came to see my niece graduate Ft. Jackson and was appaled by the state of this hotel, much as we Marines are used to spartan dwellings. Hey, I PAID for a nice hotel so I expect a little more.
I WILL comment that the rest of the staff was professional, especially one man, who worked the night shift the first two nights I was there. When I told him I had no hot water, he gracefully allowed me to use another hotel room to get my hot bath. Thank you sir!
Thank you.
