Front desk customer service was extremely poor. The manager is unprofessional and condescending when dealing with “guest.” Moments after checking out, I was not allowed to use the empty business office to conduct business. These people just took $175 bucks from me for a two night stay. The room was out of date, (no flat screen) and it sat on the dresser (no entertainment cabinet), stains in the carpet, and the bathroom shower drain were clogged. Another guest arrived an hour early from New York was not allowed to check in. This is how Wingate treat paying customers? I expected this from flea bag hotels not Wingate of South Carolina. This “franchise” is only interested in your money not your well deserved rest and comfort. The manager even stated “there is no resolution for complaints because this Wingate is franchised owned”. Wingate’s corporation should be ashamed for not protecting consumers from modern day slum lords and allowing anyone to purchase its good name.
