BUGS in room!! Huge fast-moving roaches!! We bagged everything and brought back our food back into the car. TheY said it was the bugs indigenous to the south, but really? We have been on road trip for two weeks in four different hotels and never encountered them!
Then in the morning there were three roaches -2 inches long that came out under the covers where our baby was sleeping!

Other comments- Arriving at Wyndham after driving from Orlando with two kids and husband- we were tired and exhausted and did not receive a welcome reception from the night receptionist. The outdoor pool was freezing and the 1970s style rug and ancient fridge and microwave was a surprise for a hotel that is part of Wyndham chains. Hair on our duvet - was it even cleaned? I couldn't sleep because I kept hearing all the busy people in the hall through the thin door. At 6:00 am after 4 hrs I couldn't take it any longer. The "free" breakfast was terrible- if you like to microwave oatmeal and have some cheap scones and water down coffee and juice.

This is no where near a "luxury" hotel as some reviewers have noted. I would rate it as two star. Positive note is that the day staff were very friendly and there are no bed bugs. Fitness room had a treadmill, elliptical, and a bike, but no towels or sanitizer.

There are many other hotels in the area- never again for us... Ruined our drive home.

PLEASE IF YOU ARE A MILITARY FAMILY DO NOT STAY HERE. THE HOLIDAY INN ACROSS THE STREET IS ONLY $85. This is absolutely the worst "hotel" that I have ever stayed in. When I checked in I asked for a room with a flat-screen television and I was assured that ALL the rooms had flat-screens however, when I actually went inside my room there was a television there from the 1980's. When I asked to have my room changed the lady at the counter was rude and refused, saying that her General Manager had assured her that all the rooms had flat-screens. The carpet in my room had a big red stain. I don't know if the stain was Kool-Aid or blood from a gunshot wound. The wall are paper thin. I could hear the couple next store getting to "know" one another. The maid left some of her hair in the bathroom AFTER cleaning it.

When I arrived, I was greeted immediately and was given my room keys. I went down the hall to my room and it was gorgeous, but it had a King sized bed instead of 2 full/queens. I went back to the desk and it was changed immediately, with no problem. This room was just as beautiful! I was so pleased because I was exhausted and just wanted to snuggle in bed and sleep. Pool was great, nice size and refreshing, just needed a bit of a vaccuum to remove the junk at the bottom! Jacuzzi and exercise facility were nice. Hotel was surprisingly close to Fort Jackson and perfect for Family Day and Graduation! Rooms were beautiful with dark crown molding, dark wood furniture, granite bathroom countertops, and very comfortable beds. The manager explained that they had gone through a renovation in the past year and they were more of a "boutique" hotel insteal of a standard Wingate. Regardless, it was the BEST hotel I have stayed in for up to triple what I paid!!

My daughter and I stayed here for a graduation at Ft Jackson. The rooms were modern and well appointed. The furnishings, linens etc were far better than what I expected, especially considering I only paid $79 per night (military discount).

The only minor complaint I have is that the internet service did not work very well.
