Check-in was painless, and as we'd traveled 503 miles today, we opted to eat at the restaurant in the hotel. We were a little put off by the fact that there were not many people there, but too tired to go elsewhere. What a pleasant surprise! Bartender Nikki (sp?) was great - service, personality, all good. And the food - Mom had a crab cake sandwich (without the bread), with fries. Excellent - all crab. I had a chicken Caesar Salad - fresh, and fab. Highly recommend - full bar, reasonably priced.

We were a little concerned about being too far away from all the downtown activities but this hotel was well worth the savings. The staff were very nice and helpful and the room was nicer than expected. The carpet was a bit worn but the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was all very dog friendly - a $10 fee. Breakfast was a bit above average. The barbeque place a block away was a good option. If you want to go just a little further - go the other way and check out Triangle Char and Bar down the street. Great menu and burgers!

I would like to rate it better....
My bathroom was really dirty. Toilet was dirty and hair in shower/bath area - not one or two strands - several. The hotel back two buildings were just OK. I read the reviews and really hoped for better --- so I guess I am very disappointed that it wasn't.
A little love and tender care and good housekeeping on the back two buildings would go a long way.

Front desk clerk (young and long, dark-haired female) at check-in was most pleasant upon registration and helpful (and knowledgeable) of locations and site recommendations. Check out by the young gentleman was most pleasant as well. Forgive me for not remembering names. We stayed in 3 BWs and one 'other' hotel during our trip. Names got crossed. Otherwise, very nice room, great restaurant (Bessingers' BBQ next door), and nice front desk staff made the visit most enjoyable.
