We two couples were touring SC and stayed at Market Pavillion Tue-Thur May 15-17. I used my Visa reward points to pay for a 2Q luxury room through my points booking site. I had read in another review that others booking through a secondary site had encountered additional room charges of $50 per person per night for more than 2 guests per room. We did not experience this. At checkout, you are billed $20 per night plus tax for parking, but it is a real convenience to hand the keys to the valet and not worry about moving the car until you request it upon departure. (We fit 40-somethings walked everywhere on the Historic pennisula without a problem.) We had a lovely room, very French with heavy drapery and upholstry, and a large marble bath with separate tub and shower. Looking down from our 4th floor room, the marketplace (enjoyable craft shopping) was directly below. Breakfast was set out on each floor by the elevator consisting of juices, coffee, oranges, apples, bananas, and puff pastries. We thought the pastries lacked a bit and would have been happier with just some regular muffins or pecan/cinnamon rolls. Because the rooftop bar is open to the public, guests need to use their room key to access their guest floors in the elevator. This keeps just anyone from being able to wander the guest halls. We were looking forward to a relaxing evening in the pool, but discovered that it closes at 4pm. Because the rooftop bar is surrounding the pool, we would have felt "on display" to use the pool during bar hours anyway. So it is very different from what you would expect from a typical hotel pool. The service was friendly and efficient and the gentlemen serving the front doors extremely helpful and enjoyable. For a reasonable and casual meal, we liked the Noisy Oyster across the street and would use the awesome Squeeze Bar a few doors down as a meeting place. Overall, we were very happy with our stay at Market Pavillion; it is the perfect location for seeing this beautiful historic city on foot. Thank you for your hospitality.
