Not only was the service slow (we waited 10 min for a server to greet us at 2pm on Saturday, only half capacity) but we were refused a cup of coffee after ordering numerous drinks and a bottle of white burgundy.

The mystic tan-clad waitress hid her shame behind large obnoxious sunglasses and told us it was a "management policy" that we could not be served our beverage of choice. She told us to go downstairs and get it ourselves.

Angry and unsatisfied, I went to the bar with my valet ticket and politely asked the sloppy bartender with 2 day stubble if he could call the car, and he replied that he did not have a phone at the bar, which was a lie. I called earlier and asked about a credit card we left the day before.

The way we were treated was unacceptable for any establishment, much less one with high (albeit overrated) accolades and I will be permanently scorned. Think twice before you waste your time and money here.

This hotel is exactly what you always hope a hotel will be. I reconnected with an old high school friend there for a "girls weekend". We were thrilled with our accomodations and the ambience of our surroundings. Pampered is how I would express our stay. Location could not have been better - we walked everywhere and did not need at car at all. Coffee, tea, breakfast breads and fruit were in the hallway every morning - we could just pick up whatever and take it back to the room for a leisurely beginning to the day. After a morning of shopping and sight seeing we reinvigorated ourselves by relaxing on chaise lounges in the sun, drink in hand, at the Pavillion Bar on the rooftop. What more could one ask for! We agreed that we could most definitely like to return to Charleston and the Market Pavillion. It was a great experience.

The Market Pavillon is a wonderful hotel. Unbelievable service and beautiful rooms, rooftop lounge, and the dining room is elegant. The food in Grille 225 on the gorund floor is not only beautiful it is the best food I have ever eaten any where in the world. I travel all over the world and the presentation, the quality, and the sevice is unbeatable. If I want to impress someone I will take them here.

We visited the Market Pavilion Hotel during Charleston's restaurant week and had a wonderful stay! Everything here is top notch. There are fabulous specials on their website, and it is easy to book. Everyone, from the front desk, bell staff, restaurants and housekeeping made our experience very special. Dinner at 225 Grill was divine. Don't miss the Tuna Tower...and the steaks are to-die-for. We LOVED the Pavilion on the roof, especially at night. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we can't wait to return!
