We have been on the road now for the last 10 days. And looking to save a few bucks. Nearby name brand hotels were running $80-$90. We decided to stay at Motel 6 for $42.00 plus tax and $2.99 for internet. You get what you pay for. Old beds, towels of questionable cleanliness, and the feeling that we were being bitten by invisible bugs. Can't say we say any thing crawling. Guess we should have gotten a refund when we were moving in and were asked if we needed help by a guy wandering around the parking lot. He perched himself on a nearby outside staircase and sat there for a good hour. He never really threatened us but we felt as though we were being watched.
We got back to the room after 11pm. Small room with 2 queens, one bed is a box spring turned upside down. Try sleeping on that. To late to think about changing rooms, we decided on the other bed. . We were tired of driving and decided to tough it out. We are getting out of here as early as possible tomorrow.
We have been using Trip Advisor regularly but did not use TA for Charleston We should have stayed at the Comfort Suites down the street. A king bed for $90.00 and a heated pool. First impressions count. This is what we get for being cheap.
