“Ok Hotel, Great staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

Stayed here on a long weekend in the fall. Location is great since its off US 17 / I-526 and close to food, gas, etc. The staff were very nice and friendly at all times. The lobby was clean, and so were the hallways. We had booked a suite with a whirlpool tub, but the tub was a shower/tub combo, so we could not enjoy a bubble bath. After the 1st night, we requested a change of room since the suites were on the noisier end of the hotel and one can hear the highway traffic all night. Our second room was quieter, but no tub. The manager however refunded our 1st night's charge to compensate for the inconvenience. Everything else was good, the breakfast was awesome, and the housekeeping did a good job. Overall we were satisfied with this hotel, with the exception of the combo shower/tub. The suites were very large and spacious. A good value for my $$$. Stay here and save $, and you're still a short drive to downtown Charleston.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the noisy highway end.

“Great Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 December 2011

We found a fantastic rate for a suite so switched from our first choice to Hampton Inn. Actually had a real 2 room suite - many hotels call a room with added sleeper sofa and a chair a suite. This suite had a kitchen (without a stove), living room with sleeper, bedroom separated by a wall and solid door and a huge bathroom with whirlpool tub. Staff was great - always pleasant; substantial hot complimentary breakfast; clean room but showed age and had a large stain in the carpet; very comfortable bed with clean linens. William checked us in VERY late but you would have thought it was mid-day he was so professional and friendly. Gernette checked us out and made certain our Hilton HHonor points were recorded. Would have rated "Excellent" except our room wasn't cleaned the first day - notified front desk when we got back that night but of course there was nothing they could do by then except offer clean towels and/or more toiletries.

“Pleasant and less expensive in Charleston”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

We planned out trip to Charleston, SC, pretty late and most of the hotels in down town were either sold out or beyond our means. The city center is really the peninsula of Charleston. It is a beautiful place indeed and well worth a visit. By beyond our means I mean over $150 a night. We chose the Hampton Inn because we had some positive past experience. This particular hotel is about 6 miles from downtown. You may know that because of its location access to 'downtown' and the historic area is over various bridges -which in my opinion lends to the attraction of the whole are. Our hotel was very clean, tidy and neat and with nice decor -the hot breakfast which was included in the price was top class, the breakfast area being an attractively furnished high ceiling affair, the staff was helpful and courteous.
We drove into down town and got parking at the Visitors' Center for $10 a day. We strolled the city from there.
Next time we will plan in time and hopefully make a reservation with Hampton Inn's other area hotel, smack in the middle of historic downtown.

Room Tip: our king room was excellent.

“I loved my first 3 day stay, so I came back for 6 more”

My family stayed 3 days in late October 2011 for my daughter to be seen at MUSC.
It was very nice because it was super clean and all employees had a warm smile and a friendly
greeting at each passsing. We had to return to Charleston SC on November 6, so Hampton West Ashley was my choice. This stay was for 6 days and was just as wonderful, really better than our first stay. It was so convenient to MUSC and Folly Beach. This is truly a taste of why you go to Charleston. The friendly employees let you know that you are in the South with warmth and caring. I just made my reservations to be there 2 days starting in nine days. It is truly a nice Hampton Inn. The location makes you close to so many of the great places in Charleston.

“Pleasant Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2011

We had a pleasant stay because of Gernette. We walked in and Gernette was there with her smile . You have a question about anything, directions she has them. We enjoyed the managers reception.
