“A Trip To Remember”

I had to write this to let everyone know who is looking for a place to stay to be treated like royalty, this is the place to be. From the time of check in to check out you will not want for anything that the staff there is not more than willing to do, with a smile on their face.
Great attitudes of ALL the staff we came in contact with. Its like home away from home.
Very warm and welcoming. The rooms are huge and beautiful, and very, very clean.
4 blocks from King Street. Great parking...Wonderful breakfast and afternoon horderves.
You must try it!!!

“Great Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Lovely spot. Room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. We were in a pet-friendly room and it was great - not the "second class" rooms one often gets with a pet-friendly room. We'll go back next time we're in town.

“A dream come true!”

Words cannot adequately describe how perfect this place is. The building itself is gorgeous, the service, impeccable and overall nothing needed or could have been added to make this place even more perfect than it already is. The breakfast was great, the dinner at circa 1886 was divine! the rooms were comfortable with both fireplaces working. It's quiet and private and very romantic! I without a doubt would plan on returning to this place. Simply fantastic!

“Best Charleston Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

My wife and I have stayed in many places in and around Charleston including those on the "main" streets of Market and King and other B&B's in the residential areas. The Wentworth Mansion was by far the most enjoyable. To fully appreciate it you need to understand its history and what you are getting yourself into. This is neither a B&B nor a hotel. It is a historic Inn. As such, the amenities are unique like a B&B but not cookie cutter (or as large and impersonal) as a hotel. The service was personal and attentive, but not stuffy. We enjoyed the easy access to beverages throughout the day. Breakfast at Circa 1886 in the morning was a wonderful, unexpected surprise. The food was outstanding and the service consistent with the rest of the experience.

The house was renovated in 1998 and each room is well appointed with modern facilities that one would expect at a property like this. A few places such as grout in the shower floor are starting to crack and show the age of being renovated almost 15 years ago. However, overall the property is exceptionally maintained and a pleasure for all who stay there.

We enjoyed the location -- being out of the main congestion of the shopping districts. However, some might find this inconvenient if you are not able to walk a few blocks. In some ways it is a shame to ever leave this place at all.

Room Tip: Room 13 was very nice but it overlooked ugly power lines outside. Probably ask for a room on the 2n...

“Awesome hotel”

Decided to stay here for our honeymoon. Our room was on the top floor beside the steps to the cupola, heard people walk by on a few occasions, but loved the easy access to the roof for the views. The room was huge and very comfortable. All the staff was very helpful and friendly, always inquired about our plans and made suggestions about what to do or where to eat in the city, even suggested places where we could get discounts. The breakfast is like none other, we ate later in the morning and it was enough for breakfast and lunch. Hopefully we'll be able to stay there again soon.
