Stayed one night on 1/6/12. On business and pleasure with wife. First room on 4th floor sounded like there was an airplane in the ceiling. Got second room 424, which was very good with beautiful view. Huge noise from pool area at 11 pm woke up up...several unsupervised teenagers partying in hot tub despite January temperatures. Complained, but there was big door slamming going on for another hour or so. Management contained them. Both elevators need complete renovation. Bathroom sink area has NO room for your sundry items. Shower head needed replacing, for sure. Despite all this, an OK place to stay.

Just spent 3 nights at this hotel. It was the right price and had comfortable rooms. The location was perfect, right on the water and a short distance to the center of town.. We really enjoyed the veranda where we toasted the New Year while enjoying the warm weather and the view of the waterfront. This hotel offers breakfast in the mornings (not included) but worth the price. "Mama" is the greeter and she is a character.This was our first trip to Charleston and it won't be our last!

Stayed here for a couple of nights in December 2011. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The restaurant is only open for breakfast - the usual good Marriott style buffet - with a bar open in the evening. My room was the usual Courtyard standard so no complaints.

On a return trip to NC we stopped off in Charleston. We had made reservations at the Marriott on the waterfront right in town. The setting is beautiful. Huge outdoor veranda overlooking the marina. The pool is actually in a private alcove looking out on the water. Room was wonderful. But the best part of all was the staff. We moved to the south for both the weather and the people. This hotel is no exception to our expectations. Gracious hosts and professional in every way. We ate a wonderful leisurely breakfast in the hotel dining room overlooking the harbor. If you are going to tour Charleston, this is a great place to come home to at the end of the day.
