Stayed over on the way to Myrtle Beach. Staff was friendly, room clean and a good size, kids had a great swim in the pool. Plentiful breakfast and a lot of seating. Staff friendly too, no complaints overall.

I stayed at this hotel for a conference at a nearby High School. Check in was great as we arrived around 11:30 that night. Around 12:00 is when the problems started with the air conditioner. Could not get any sleep because the air conditioner was so loud and kept turning off and on with a loud noise. We reported the problem to the front desk and they said someone would be up to fix it or replace it with a new one. Someone did come the next day and replaced the air conditioner. However, around two o clock the next morning I was pouring in sweat, because the air conditioner stopped working, so we had to pack up all our belongings and move to another room with no help. Asked to speak with the manager the next morning and the lady at the front desk lied and sayed he wasn't in. I asked if we would get a refund for that night because of being inconvienced and she got an attitude and said no, you already got a discount on your room. Needless to say it was a government discount by about 15 dollars, when the room was booked for 6 nights along with other rooms from my school district. After I made a scene the manager all of sudden magically appears. Point being they were rude and I would never stay again!

We stayed here as a family.. but my husband stays at this hotel often with his job. The room we stayed in was a double bed and it was clean. The bathroom was very nice and large. We had no problems with check in and the lady was very nice to us. The continental breakfast was nice and plenty of food. Not sure about the other reviews but we were comfortable and treated well.

I am a diabetic and it is important to me to stay in a room with a refrigerator. Some time ago I made reservations at the Holiday Inn Express at 419 Sumter highway, Camden, SC. We have stayed at Holiday Inn Express’s over the last two years and experienced a clean large room and bath room at each location. We are also members of Holiday Inn Express priority Club.

When we arrived at the Holiday Inn Express in Camden, SC at noon on 03 April 2009 and checked in. You can imagine how shocked I was to open the door of room 320 and find a very small room and bathroom I would say is the size of a broom closet. I went to the front desk to ask for a normal room with refrigerator and normal bath. She said they were over booked and could not give me another room. She said this room did not have a refrigerator because this room and the one below it (rm 220) were very small and didn’t have room for a refrigerator. She did finally agree to have a refrigerator brought to our room because of my medical condition.

The bathroom was so small only one of us could use it at a time and I had to remove all of my toiletries each time my wife needed to use so she would have room to take her toiletries in and use them. I have never stayed in a major motel with a bathroom sink this small. I have a picture of it to show. To add insult to injury I paid $104.46 +taxes of $11.50 each night for this room which was the same price other customers paid for full size rooms. We had friend that spend the night in a motel up the road which had a larger room for $55.00 a night.

I haven’t decided if we will stay at another Holiday Inn Express now that can’t trust them to provide a standard room size and quality from city to city when we make advance reservations.
