I checked into this hotel for a family reunion and found the room to have nasty stains around lighting, bad outlets, filthy jacuzzi jets, an old used dried washcloth stuck to the shower stall rod, hair on a towel in the bathroom, suspect hair in the linens, dust on most of the surfaces in the room. among other issues. To add to that, the room smelled too. But WORST of the trip was the customer service clerk that I had to check out with. She had an unbelievably negative attitude, was very dismissive, refused to acknowledge the problem in spite of two earlier calls to the desk. She refused to give me a breakdown of the charges (i.e. whether my AAA discount was honored and the room rate adjusted for the issues). My only resort is to dispute the charges and take my complaint public and to the corporate office of Best Western. ALSO please know that this facility takes a copy of your driver's license without your knowledge. The only reason I know is because I asked why my driver's license was put through what looked like a small laminating machine before I could even ask why. Protect yourself -- DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS HOTEL.

My family and friends stayed at this hotel for 4 nights the weekend of the Darlington race. It's more of a motel than a hotel set up. It's in a pretty small town and there's nothing spectacular about the hotel itself. The staff does a very good job at keeping it clean and I would definitely recommend it. I only have 2 complaint. One is the bathrooms are TINY!!! And we had a problem the week before trying to confirm the rooms. Apparently the internet reservation was on record at central reservations, but not the hotel. It took several phone calls and the technical department to fix the problem...but if we had not check before we left, with it being a race weekend I think there may have been a big problem.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for 1 night in 2 doubles non-smoking. It is a totally average Holiday Inn Express. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly. I didn't use the pool, but it looked OK, but was on the small side. The continental breakfast was included and was OK. It was your typical Holiday Inn Express. Good value for the money, nothing great, but nothing bad either.
