I've been camping here since Sept of 2006. I love it here. We always tent camp in loop 3, and even though we are in a tent, we still like water/electric. March and October are the best months for great weather. It is the deep south, and its going to be hot in the summer. The bath houses are nice, although a tad old, but are very well maintained. The racoons are like Houdini and can break into any container to get what they want...so keep food in car. The campstore is awesome and the people that work there are sweet. I suggest making reservations EARLY! (6-8 months in advance) The oceansites go fast, and they are the best. Bring bug spray. For those complaining about no alcohol, I'm pretty sure you can't have it at any state park, not just here. I suggest eating at the Johnson Creek Tavern for great seafood and steaks and enjoy your adult beverages there. Also be on the lookout for dolphins where the creek meets the ocean. And seashells and sand dollars are abundant in the early fall. The pier and marsh are also great places to venture off to. I just booked my week for Oct of 2012,and its only Jan 2012 and spaces were already limited on the ocean. No place makes me happier to be, or calms me down more that this great place! It is very natural, so if your expecting a resort feel, just keep moving on! :-)
