“Beauty & Charm”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

I found this B&B online and after looking at the pictures, decided to book it. Upon arrival I was in awe of the room we stayed in. We stayed in the Mariner Suite. Many times, pictures can be misleading, but in this case, the pictures do the Cuthbert House no justice. The room was very neat and very clean. The breakfast is served a little early (8 - 9 am) compared to other B&B I've stayed at, but the food was great. Rather than the breakfast being served to you in your room, you must go to the dinning room area and sit at one of the 6 tables set up in there. It is a great house to stay in just to experience being in a place that is 200 years old.

Because it was pouring down rain the weekend that we stayed, we did not venture out much. However, the house was right down the street from galleries, restaurants, and right in front of the water. So, the location was great. We drove across the bridge and went to Hunting Island to visit the beach and light house there. Beaufort is a beautiful little town! Overall we have no real complaints...the owners are more business oriented and less personable.

(I traveled in 2010, but just came across this site and figured I'd add mine to it)

Room Tip: The Mariner Suite is a great room for a romantic get a way. The entrance is private, and from the ou...

“Easy access for Handicapped”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

We stayed overnight after a day of shooting Clays at Brays Island. Owners were most helpful in making sure we would be well situated if we returned late from our outing. Handicap room is on ground level with easy access off garden/patio from parking area. Owners very easy going and friendly. Breakfast was good. House is very historic and has picture of Union troops on steps on the occasion of Sherman staying overnight on his march from Savannah to Columbia.

“22nd Anniversary”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

My wife and I just spent our 22nd Anniversary at the Cuthbert House Inn and we really enjoyed our stay. We stayed a total of 4 nights, with 3 of the nights in the Victorian room and the last one in the downstairs Oceanview room. Jeff and Mary, (The Owners) were very accommodating and considerate of all our needs. The rooms were clean and well kept considering they dated back to the late 1800's. The morning breakfast was well prepared and not slapped together. We enjoyed a nice three course breakfast with very nice tea in the breakfast room with a beautiful view of the bay.
We will definitely be back for our next get-away.

Room Tip: Try to stay for the social hour with Wine and finger foods between 5 and 6pm.

“Beauty with a view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2011

Six of us stayed at the Cuthbert House Inn for a weekend getaway for some photography. The Inn and its owners are both wonderful. It's hard to add to previous reviews except to confirm. While it's an 18th century house converted to an inn, it is in immaculate condition, clean and welcoming. It is also very convenient to downtown Beaufort. This weekend was full of exiting activities on the street and on the water. We were able to easily walk to all of them and to restaurants while leaving our car parked in their lot.

Room Tip: It is as stated an old house. The first floor is up stairs, as you will see from pictures. There i...

“Fabulous New Coastal Suite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2011

person found this review helpful

We didn't ever want to leave this lovely experience. The new suite is actually a three-room apartment with so much space, kitchen facilities, the biggest best shower ever and sunset views over the Intracoastal Waterway. It's totally private, although located in the historic bed and breakfast which delivers Southern hospitality and fresh breakfast daily. Restaurants, shops, galleries and entertainment are a short walk away in the friendly little town, and business meetings can become an extended vacation with a stay such as this.

Room Tip: Choose the Coastal for the most space and best view.
