“Simply Excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

I stay in hotels all across the country and I have to say this was simply an excellent experience. The hotel reminds me of Aloft but MUCH better. I am not a big fan of Aloft but I loved NYLO. Very modern, unique style hotel made from an old Fruit of the Loom factory. On our arrival the system that controls all the keys to the hotel was on the fritz so they had to take us to our rooms. No big deal for me, the hotel staff was very nice. I must say the bed was my favorite part, very comfortable! Nice shower too. It was raining when we were there but the restaurant facing the river made me want to have a beer out there anyway. Can't say enough about this hotel. Would recommend to my friends and family.

“Cool and Modern”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

Great - but different - hotel. It was a great, reclaimed space. Very modern - with concrete walls and floors. Loved the bathroom and the shower. If you aren't into a more modern or loft type of place, than you may not like it but I loved the design, the flow and attention to detail. Staff was nice and professional.

“New York Sophistication at RI Prices”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

This is a real jewel. It's not your father's Holiday Inn - about as far different as you can imagine. This is an old textile mill (next to the "ole mill stream" river) turned into the hotel version of a New York loft. The rooms are a bit smaller than average but furnished with eclectic and very high end furnishings. Luxury bedding, Keurig coffeemaker. The lounge and restaurant are gorgeous and overlook the deck and the river. It's in a residential area but almost across from a major mall, two miles from the airport and a few minutes from Interstate 95.

Room Tip: Ask for a king overlooking the water. We found a "run of the house" rate on one of the tra...

“NYC Swanky Style Loft in Rhode Island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

It was parents weekend at Brown and so all the hotels in Providence were booked. A friend suggested we travel just 15 minutes out of the city to stay at the NYLO. So glad we did. It's built on the side of the river in an old mill like looking building. Kudos to this company for reclaiming this space! The lobby and restaurant were very modern yet comfy and the restaurant looked like something straight out of SOHO. The food was very good and they had a large selection of specialty rum and tequilas. Didn't stay for drinks, but looks like it would be a hip spot. The outdoor deck with comfy lounge furniture was great for getting a little sun after breakfast. The room was very cool with concrete walls, floor and ceiling. This must have been why it was so quiet, which along with the comfy bed, made me get an excellent night's sleep. I was also amazed at the price. So reasonable and much cheaper than anything in town. I think we paid $120 for what I think was a $250 plus quality experience.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the river so you can get in more light. If you like sunlight, this room is a littl...
