We come to Newport two to three times a year and we always stay here. It is in a great location: about 30 minute walk to downtown and there are a ton of chain restaurants and local shopping within minutes from the hotel. The hotel is operated by a family and they are terrific. They are always helpful and happy to help to accomodate. There is a small breakfast - the usual minibagels, cereal, coffee and juice. Also, the rooms have irons and coffee makers and some have refrigerators. I recommend this location to anyone who wants to stay in Newport but doesn't want to pay the over priced hotels in the immediate area.

In spite of the poor review this motel received in 2008 and 2009 my wife and I decided to stay at The Rodeway Inn. We travel in September 9 and 10 of 2010. Our room was immaculate, the king size bed was very comfortable and the Continental breakfast was exceptional. We really enjoyed our stay so much so that we are looking foward to our next visit. R. The room smelled of mold, and everyone woke up with sore throats and stuffy noses. The shower had low water pressure, there was only one towel given for four people, and half a roll of toilet paper. To top it off, the worst part was that there was no fitted bed sheet on the bed, just a bare mattress!! When we got back at night, had to sleep on this disgusting mattress with no sheets. Dumpiest hotel I've ever stayed in, would rather pay more money and go anywhere else next time. The only good thing was that Dominoes was right next door for a late night snack. haha

first let me say that check in took a while since we had to wait for someone to come to front desk, then when we checked in, we found that the stairs leading to our room were fairly unsafe for carrying luggage up. Our room was tiny, the bathroom had an odor that we could smell when the bathroom floor got wet. We stayed only because it was late when we realized the smell. the breakfast was a total joke, and maybe it would be nice to hire some staff who does not need someone to walk around with them to understand what guests are saying to them. We will not be returning to this hotel, next time we stay in newport we will check hotel ratings first
