My boyfriend and I had decided on a last minute trip to Newport. We were only planning to be there for the day, but ended up staying one night. The cheapest place we could find was the Rodeway Inn and there wasn't a 2 night minimum stay. We had a basement room with a double bed. The decor was probably from the 70s. Some of the bedding had stains and cigarette burns. I was afraid to walk barefoot on the rug. After our night out there wasn't any where to park because some young people had people over partying upstairs. The manager had us park in handicap until a space opened. What a hassle that was. There were a couple of good things which were location, friendly staff and nice shower pressure but that was it. It worked for the night since we were only there to sleep, but I don't plan to return.

I recently stayed at this place and only two words come to mind "seething craphole". I have been going to Newport for years and have driven by this hotel many times and it appeared decent, so this was a last minute trip and most places were booked or required a minimum stay. It seemed fine when we pulled in, until they told us to park in the rear to access our room. In the back lot was a car on blocks with plastic bags for windows (see photo), old office equipment rusting under the steps and a dumpster overflowing with garbage and seagulls throwing it all over the lot. The room was dank and dingy, stains are carpets and dirty bedspread. Had door to front porch with view of road, but there was a 2" puddle of nasty water not draining which made it un-usable. We did not feel comfortable sleeping, so we remained fully clothed. We were supposed to be there Saturday and Sunday, but decided to leave Sunday morning and find more suitable rooming. It was so bad; we were willing to let them keep the nights fee, just to get away. If you are 21 and going to Newport with 10 buddies and need a cheap room to pass out in, then you should stay here, otherwise steer clear of this DUMP.

I never write reviews of any type, yet, the stay here was GREAT! The room was very clean, staff outstanding and great rates. I am recommending this Inn to my family and friends. The biggest value for your monines. Do not waste your valuable time searching
at other hotels.

I looked at several hotels in the area and they were poor to say the least; there conditions were to the point that I could not stay.

Start off with arriving at 1130pm, tired, hungry and ready for some shut eye to find 3 drunks outside on the sidewalk -yelling - "Watch out for the bed bugs!"
The room was disgusting, smelled of stale cigarettes, felt dirty just entering the room. Shower area was circa 1950 - plumbing and all. No vents in the bathroom. Cigarette burns on the blankets and bedspread. A NO SMOKING ROOM!
Had to stay one night - midnight wasn't a good time to find another place after a 9 hour drive!
We have traveled all over the world and this was worse than any third world country inn we have ever stayed in.
DON'T STAY HERE!!!!
