Very disappointed. I have stayed in many "budget" hotels/motels that were in better shape & cleaner than this hotel. It started on the way to the room when the hallway had an overpowering smell of air freshener and went downhill from there. Our room looked very run down and didn't feel clean with cobwebs hanging, ripped rugs, big divits in the floor under the rug and peeling wallpaper. In order to feel comfortable using the whirlpool tub we had to run out and get our own cleaning supplies because it had a black residue in it and there was no way I was going anywhere near it until WE cleaned it. It was a nice touch to leave small bottles of champagne in the fridge BUT the glasses left in the room were sticky and dirty. We also stripped the bedspread off immediately because it was stained and didn't look like it had been washed in quite a while (only to find a blanket with holes in it). To top it off we had to go to the front desk to get our own replacement roll of toilet paper because the housekeeping staff did not leave a roll despite it being almost empty. One of the times we went to the front desk to ask a question on our way out to town staff was too busy having an arguement inside the office to even notice us standing at the desk - very unprofessional! As others have mentioned, we were awakened very early (6:30 AM on a weekend!) by people slamming doors and yelling in the hallways. So much for a relaxing anniversary weekend away with my husband!!
The one highlight of the weekend was how comfortable the bed was. The temperpedic beds were one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept in. Actually even more comfortable than my bed at home.
With a good cleaning, attention to detail and a little upgrading this hotel could be nice again but we won't be back to find out. Many other hotels that are less expensive that are a lot nicer.
