I'm a big fan of Extended StayAmerica hotels, they're a great idea if a person is going to be in the same location for a few days. It's not a fancy hotel by any means but it has everything you'll need and it's like a mini-apartment.
One of my favorite cities is Providence (and East Providence), RI. I absolutely love the history and everything about the area, especially the friendly people. Some of the most courteous drivers I've ever encountered in North America reside in the Providence area. I'm not sure why that is but it sure left a great impression on me. This hotel also left a great impression on me, from the friendly check-in experience to the super convenience of having a kitchen with cooktop and full-sized refrigerator with freezer (think: ice cream. I'd like to stay in one of these in every city that I travel to if there were more of them around the country.
My room was super clean and was stocked with all of the bathroom necessities. One thing missing was dish soap which is definitely needed if a person will be staying there for longer than a day or two. I'm guessing that they may have had small bottles of it available in a vending maching downstairs along with laundry soap, etc, but I was at a Target store in the area and bought some there instead. There's a huge grocery store close by which was excellent for stocking up on food items and lots of restaurant choices as well. It's such a quaint area and everyone was so nice, I'd love to go back there for a longer visit someday. When I do, I'll stay here again and would recommend it to others.
