“Would come back”

Make sure you follow the directions on their website, as GPS misleads you off the wrong exit. I stayed up late working in the lobby, and got to overhear one of their clerks dealing in the most gracious way with late-night walk-ins. When I was done working and leaving the lobby, he even took the initiative to offer me a free bottle of water. The pool and hottub were bigger and cleaner than can sometimes be expected at mid-range hotels. Within easy walking distance are several restaurants, drug store, Radio Shack; Wal-Mart and other shops are short drive down the lane. This hotel is used by Wal-Mart corporate training center, so they often are at capacity. A great rate for this hotel would be $89.

“Great place, friendly staff”

We were pleasantly greeted when we checked in and when we asked about restaruants, she produced a page with quite a few restaurants along with directions. She also gave us a menu for another place, where we ended up going. Upon our return, she asked where we had gone and how it was. Nice touch!

The room was large and bright with enough outlets for a change! It was very clean with a good size flat screen tv.

The breakfast was surprisingly good (despite the fact we came down 10 minutes before scheduled opening): eggs and potatoes, waffles from scratch, cereal, juices and coffee.

I would definitely recommend staying here.

“Decent hotel!”

One thing hubby & I agree on is this Hampton Inn isn't as nice as the one in Exeter NH. They should think about next time renovating: put fans in the bathroom, gets extremely steamy in there. Will say it was nice of the front desk to check in on us both nights w/ a phone call to see how our stay was going & that if we needed anythimg to just call on them. We generally like staying in Hampton Inn's when away from home.

“Great Stay”

I almost never write hotel reviews, but the Hampton Inn Coventry deserves one. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever. The staff is very pleasant, the hotel is conveniently located and clean, and it has ample parking, a pool, workout room and business center w/2 computers and a printer. Definitely a good value. We stayed here as an alternative to staying in Newport at a fraction of the price.

“The benefit of the doubt”

We stayed at this hotel on September 3rd for 1 night. Granted, it was a holiday weekend and we arrived after midnight. We had been to a wedding and arrived late to find that there was only 1 room left - not a King as requested but 2 Queens. OK, it was Labor Day weekend, i get it but this wasn't the issue. The lone available non-smoking room REEKED of smoke - it was really bad...The manager on duty offered to show us the only other room available, which was a smoking room. The theory being some non-smoking rooms aren't rented that often and maybe it didn't smell as bad. Nice try - 1000 times worse. He next offered to douse the room with industrial strength Febreze. While it didn't make a huge difference, it helped. What was really helpful was that he comped the room. How's that for EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Thank you!!
