anyone who knows the island economy realizes that most places use summer help.
well summer is almost over and they are down to a thin crew. they are doing the best they can,..... It was like going to your grandmas house..... well fed with a smile .
the view is pricless.,.... romatic for sure.
we would go back in a heart beat. a true taste of what island life shouild be.
we were in our bathing suits and beach dresses the couple behind us were dressed to the nines, a daughter and mother enjoyed a bottle of chardoney..... a true mix of summer people.... everthing i love bi for.

Everyone was very friendly - the room was simple & clean all you need on Block Island as you don't spend too much time there. I was a little apprehensive about the shared bathroom situtation but they were well maintained day & night. The location was great not directly in hustle and bustle but not a far walk from anything including the beach. Breakfast was included which wasn't expected - very nice way to start the day - drinking a cup of coffee overlooking new harbor.

The Mott family has owned this property for decades and is now running and managing the Inn themselves. The rooms are all super clean with new linens. It is still a historic and rustic Inn, and is a great Block Island experience.

Let's begin with the three weeks it took to make the reservation. Poor, poor service from the beginning. Read the reviews - head the warnings! The room(s) were sickening. Everything was filthy. The kids did NOT want to stay! Every bed had a dirty bedspread - we covered our pillows with sweaters and slept in our clothes - The curtain rods were held together with scotch tape, the curtains themselves were home to the pincher bugs, the corners of the walls had cob webs and spiders. The window casing which one of the beds was right up against, had rodent fecies in it. The envelopes asking for cleaning tips was absurd! They were even filthy with fingerprints and smudged something or other on them. The inside of the shower curtain was pick with mold! (WE COULDN'T EVEN SHOWER!!!) Refused to eat there - Looked in the window after dark and the kitchen matched the bedrooms - disgusting - Not only would I NOT recommend this hotel to ANYONE, but I am telling people to stay away!
