“Small but inexpensive room in nice, historic inn.”

Apparently the most inexpensive inn on the island, as most places were charging $100 or more. I paid sixty something. The Harborside is a handsome, historic building, and it's surrounded by more of the same. The location, directly across from the ferry landing, is great if you plan on walking to dinner or shops.

I chose a room w/o AC in my room because I stayed in September when the weather is mild. The room does include a fan. I think there is no heat, either, but unless you are staying during a cool period in the shoulder season (I think the place is closed in the winter), that doesn't matter. My room, small but clean, had a sink with a mirror and a separate little bathroom with a shower and toilet. When I travel I don't stay in my room much so I don't mind.

I didn't need special service but when I asked the women behind the counter a couple of questions they were helpful. I don't know how easy parking is during the busy summer season. You would have to find streetside parking somewhere in the area, as the Harborside doesn't have a parking lot. Wireless internet service is available but unfortunately they charge for it so I didn't use it.

I liked it and would stay here again. With the other pricey places on the island I didn't have much of a choice anyway.

“Very quaint”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 October 2010

we stayed for two nights and loved the inn. very old and pretty and we enjoyed sitting on the veranda in the late afternoon. employees were very helpful especially when the ferries were cancelled on friday when we were supposed to arrive and on monday when we were supposed to leave. we ended up taking a small plane from the island to the mainland but really loved our room and the whole atmosphere of the inn. we ate at the Mohegan Cafe and it was absolutely delicious.

“Good Value for the Price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2010

We signed onto a package deal for 2 nights midweek and a fishing charter. The hotel was exactly what we expected - an old, Rhode Island seaside hotel, complete with uneven floors, creaky doors, and narrow staircases. We have stayed at most of the island hotels, and find this charming. Our room was directly across from the ferry dock and although a little noisy, it was very interesting. The Inn has a nice porch with white wicker chairs, great for people watching. As always, the island was QUIET Wednesday and Thursday and exploded with life on Friday and Saturday. Because of this, we had to move to a very small room for Friday night and pay double for it...weekends are pricey, our one disappointment. The fishing charter was EXCELLENT!

“Awesome!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 September 2010

The Harborside Inn was the perfect accomadation for us. The room was very clean and filled with sunlight. Bathroom looked like it had been recently renovated. The housekeepers did a great job as well and got us everything we asked for. The girls at the front desk were also very pleasant and check in was a breeze! My favorite part about staying at the Harborside was that it is in the best location ever; right in the center of downtown it is in the middle of all the best shopping ,dining, and nightlife and across the street from the ferry- so convenient!

“Charming Downtown Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2010

The Harborside is a charming victorian inn with recently updated rooms.
The location is amazing, you get off the ferry and within minutes you are at the wrap around deck and within minutes to the beach, shops and restaurants.
The staff was fabulous and very helpful. We found our stay to be enjoyable and relaxing and look forward to staying again!
