Usually stay at chain hotels on business; however, this hotel was the preferred hotel for this business trip due to our corporate rate and I am glad it was. I would not have stayed here without it being required. When we pulled up outside the hotel there are signs telling you to enter the hotel garage to park before checking in. This requires you to circle the block, and they have signs placed at every turn guiding you to the hotel garage. The hotel garage only has valet parking and it is complimentary (except for tips). Walking into the lobby is stepping back in time. They have done an excellent job of keeping the history of the hotel through several updates. Every staff member we encountered was pleasant and helpful. They still use real keys. The rooms are small in comparison, with all the modern amentities. My room had a queen bed with flat screen TV, in room coffee, workspace and free wired/wireless internet. There are two restaurants on site, a "modern" restaurant & bar that is open until late and a high-end restaurant that is a step-back in time. I couldn't affort to eat there every night; however, with my next visit I plan to have dinner there one night. There are multiple restaurants within walking distance and the hotel is located across from the local theater so you have theater goers before and after shows. There is a business center and work out facility, neither that I had time to check out on this visit.
