Stayed here while visiting York College with my son. First, the good points. It is very clean. Not only was the room immaculate but the common areas and hallways were clean as well. The pool looked clean, though we did not use it. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate are available 24/7. The hotel was very quiet, the beds were comfortable and the room temperature was perfect which all made for a good night sleep. Room has micro and fridge. Front desk called moments after check-in to see if I was content with room, which was nice. Breakfast was plentiful. Eggs, homefries, crispy bacon, oatmeal, waffles, fruit, yogurt, Thomas' english muffins, pastries etc. Coffee in glass mugs instead of paper was nice. Joan, who kept everything well stocked and spotless was very helpful with area info. What I didn't like......when we checked in, the woman at the desk stated we did not have a reservation, which I did. After I gave her the # she found it, but couldn't get me into the system. For some reason she couldn't show my room as occupied so she left a note at the desk saying not to give anyone else our room. She said she wanted to avoid having someone walk in on us. That would not have been good. Then she gave me wrong directions for a restaurant. We ended up in the car for 1/2 hour to find a restaurant that was about 5 minutes away. She also wasn't sure where the college was (it's on the same road). She must have been new. The front desk people should be knowledgeable on the area, as we count on them to help us out. There are no snack vending machines, just soda. There is a pantry behind front desk with a few snacks for purchase. The towels were also kinda grungy. Clean, just oldish. The location was good. Close to the college, shopping, restaurants and parkways. The entrance is BETWEEN Hardee's and Autozone and then up the hill. A bit tricky if you didn't know where to look. Last but not least, the alarm clock was so bright it literally lit up the entire room. Put a t-shirt or towel over it to keep the room dark. Overall, I was pleased and would stay here again.
