“Wouldn't stay again if THEY paid me!”

First of all do not be misguided by the beautiful internet pictures. This is not the getaway you assume. The hotel is almost in the middle of town and not the good part either. The staff was not friendly or attentive (except for the young lady who worked the late night shift), it took 45 min to get the bedding we requested and service at the restaraunt was just as slow. The hotel seemed dark and dingy, the mini golf was a let down and there was no mention of the "pool nearby". Upgrades? Not any I saw. Hubby said the golf was average at best. I even overheard one of the staff complaining noone was in charge and it showed!!

“wonderful weekend”

my wife really upped the ante for birthday surprises this year. she booked a weekend stay at Heritage Hills for my birthday/golf weekend. it could not have been better. forget about those earlier reviews for this resort. they have spent alot of money updating the rooms and facilities here. we arrived to a friendly welcome and a clean modern room overlooking the golf course. the staff could not have been more attentive or friendly. the food was great, the bar area jumping and the drinks well made. the course is well maintained and challenging for all. we will be back soon. thank you Heritage Hills for a truely memorable stay.

“A fantastic experience all around”

This was by far the best weekend getaway we have ever had. We booked a one night snow tubing package for 179 which included the room, 4 tubing passes ($26 if seperate) and breakfast for four people. I have stayed at every source of lodging in York Super8 and up and this is by far the nicest place. Walking in the lobby you see a refined elegant atmosphere. Everything was ready for our package to be picked up during check in. We received a third floor room with a great view of the golf course. The room was recently redone and was top notch with the nicest of hotels. Beautiful everything. The bathroom was not the largest but it was certainly not the smallest. The whole place just felt new.The bed was comfortable and let way for a great day of tubing the next day. I love how there are no hour times to go tubing, its all day. There are very few rules as well so you can really have fun. We all went down on a train of 20 people tubing down the hill! It was a blast. As for the breakfast we had before tubing, it was top notch everything. The first time I have had non paper thin bacon in a while. Everything was delicious and the tip was even included with the price. I am spreading the word about York's best kept secret and hope that others follow along and give this place a shot.

“Not worth it”

Family and I stayed here for the New Years Holiday.Snow tubing was fun but the staff was inattentive. My son was left on the tow rope and almost pushed over the hill before he was even sitting down in the tube. The rooms are small and smell a little funny.they are also noisy we could hear banging the whole time we were there that had nothing to do with the parties going on.We ate in the Knickers Pub which looked old and crusty, food was decent and the staff very nice.We also ate in the Ironwood restaurant on New years Eve.Had late reservation 9:30,bad move.Everybody was ready to go by then .Took 30 minutes just to put in our drink order.Dinner was horrible. My filet mignon was charred and over cooked beyond belief and my daughters was very rare.We couldn't substitute anything so we both had a nice mushy heap of spinach that niether of us touched.Kids meal for my son was enough mac n cheese for a two year old but my husbands crab was very good.Restaurant didn't look very busy but it must have overwhelmed the staff. We spent 159.00 for a dinner that was truly bad.Dessert was very good though had the peanut butter chocolate tart.Would not dine there again.

Dear PA Jennifer,
Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that you did not have a good time at the resort. Safety is a number one concern for our staff on the tubing hill. The situation you encountered was addressed with the staff so they can be more cautious in the future.

The rooms at the resort were just renovated last year and all of the cabinetry in the room was made at a local shop. The size of the room is the standard for most hotels, but if you need more space we do have larger suites that you could try on your next visit. Without any further information I cannot be sure what could have been causing the noise in your room. If you mentioned it at check-out I am sure we sent someone up to investigate the problem.

As for your experience in Ironwoods on New Year’s Eve, I am sorry that we failed to meet your expectations. The time that you reserved for your meal should have had no impact on the service you received.

I believe our Food and Beverage Director has already contacted you about coming back out to the resort and giving us another try. It is our goal that every guest has a positive, remarkable experience and I hope that we can fulfill that upon your return to our resort.

Regards,
Joshua Gallant

“Wedding/This place and staff were awesome”

I used Heritage for my daughters wedding and the hotel for the guests to stay. I do not have one negative thing to say about it. The reception was fantastic, as was the staff. The guests loved both the reception in the Terrace and their stay at the hotel. I would recommend this place to anyone who is going to be in the York area. Knickers Pub which is onsite was a great place for friends and family to go before the reception, as well as after. It also served breakfast to those guests that did stay. If you are planning a wedding make sure that you book asap, as the Terrace books up quickly. As I said I used the Terrace for my daughters wedding, and was also a guest there recently at another wedding. I was not dissappointed either time.
