“overpriced for the accommodations... you would never make it in New York”

just like the title reads! this is a high volume low expectation hotel... they sound like a wonderful place on the website... but once you get there I find in boringly average... under trained staff with glaring half enthused looks on their face... overpriced food (considering if your going to do room service make the food hot! Please) And if your going to eat in one of their restaurants Make the Food HOT please.

We stayed for 3 days had food there twice ... then decided to venture out and eat Any Place but there.

I've had better meals and service at TGI Fridaysand wasn't charged an arm and a leg for it.

not to much good to say about this place ... sooo I'm not!

no thanks never again!

“Comfortable stay, Lots of Food -- interesting menu”

We were there for a wedding and only stayed for one night. The room was VERY comfortable, and the beds were too with soft high thread count sheets and layers of softness -- I was pleasantly surprised. Also ate at Knickers Pub, one of the two pubs all the way in the basement??

The sweet potato fries were great. I had a blackened tuna, which was dry unfortunately. The soup was salty but we were hungry. My son's club sandwich was yummy with lots of fries. I would go back just for the sweet potato fries!

The bathroom was small and in need of renovation, and the hotel service was so-so -- small-town. The restaurant service was friendly and fast (the woman); I say this because overhearing the table near us, their male waiter kept apologizing for the delay as he was running in out to the golf course. The price was reasonable and was value for money.

There is a spa on the premises, but I didn;t dare when I read the list of "smelly moisturizing" services -- any spa that pushes their coconut, lemon, chocolate, grape, white tea, vanilla, etc facials -- makes me wonder. Manicures were $35, pedicures $50. Smelly facials were more -- no massage info in the room. I think it is predominantly a golfer's place.

Wedding service was not so good at reception -- delay in serving kids -- no wine until dinner ended. Sparkling wine for toast was barely in glass -- served unusually sparingly. Food was good, warm not hot.

Room Tip: View of golf would be best.

“Good for Work..Okay for Play”

This resort is really good for a business retreat. I organized a retreat for my department this May (2011) and was able to negotiate a really great rate for a group of 85 people for a 4 day-3 night stay. The staff were very accommodating and courteous. The meals were good and my group seemed to enjoy it. We had a few glitches with some of the rooms not being available at the check-in and even after check-in times, but I'll let that slide. The golf grounds were very well manicured and easy to maneuver. Overall, it was pretty cool!

Room Tip: I would recommend the rooms facing the golf grounds or a suite.

“Beautiful property”

My husband, myself and our two teens stayed here last weekend. The hotel is elegantly furnished and immaculate! The employees are friendly, professional and attentive. The food is great! The kids hit a few buckets of balls on the range but we don't golf and there wasn't much else to do. My daughter got a massage at the spa which was reasonable and she was very pleased! I wish the one restaurant (where we had vouchers) and pool were onsite. We went to Gettysburg (an hour away) and was worth the trip. All in all, for the price we paid, it was definitely worth it! Note, that there is a $4.95 charge for wireless internet.

“Great wedding. Room did the trick.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 June 2011

I stayed at this hotel to attend a wedding on the location. The wedding reception was beautiful and the food was decent.
The room itself was nothing special, but the sheets and bathroom were clean. The hallways and carpets were a bit grungy, and overall in our room as well as the rest of the hotel, the lighting was very dim. It was hard to get ready in my room due to lack of appropriate lighting, which was not helped by the dark coloring of the furniture and cabinets.
The bathroom ceiling is incredibly low-very strange.
Overall, it did the trick since we basically just got ready and slept here, but I probably wouldn't come back for a vacation spot.
