We saw some good reviews about this location, mainly dealing with the Hotel being Clean. On that end, I agree, but anything positive I have to say about this place stops there! We almost didn't stay here because of it's "out of the way, bad location" that makes it difficult to find. When we arrived on a Monday there was not a single other guest staying there. We would only stay there for one night of a planned 4 nights, but we passed by this hotel every day for a week after we left and there was not a single car there other than the employees the entire week. What I'm saying is that this Hotel did not have a single other guest for the entie week...no one..NADA!!! I mention this fact as it weighs heavy on my complaint about this place. We get to this no-frills..out ot the way...EMPTY...EMPTY...EMPTY Hotel and go to check in. As I recall they wanted about $70 or $75 day, plus a whopping $25.00/day for our dog. This amount is high for this area this time of year even for a larger, nicer chain Hotel. At better than a Hundred dollars a day after tax this is just NonSense for this place to even consider asking. But this is often the way these people do business..."start stupid high..settle unreasonably high". I asked the Woman Manager if she was actually willing to allow us to drive off over the excessive price when the entire Hotel was Vacant. I told here I would be willing to stay there for 4 days and pay cash and I offered her $200 total for the stay. She did some calculating and agreed to $265.00 + tax. I verified this price with her and said "Total..4 days, including the dog and plus tax"? She said yes and charged me the $265 plus local tax. I believe it was about $291 total.I paid here in cash this full amount, UP FRONT and checked into our room. This was about 4pm.
About 9pm that evening we were in bed and were awaken by our room phone ringing. It was the Woman manager and she said she had made a mistake and needed to charge us an additional $75.00 for the room. She said she had only charged us for one day with the dog ($25.00 extra) and we owed her $75.00 for the other 3 days. I said to her...."surely you are not calling us and trying to change a price you have agreed to and been paid in full for??" She said she had made a mistake and we had to pay more. I asked if I could speak to her in the morning about this and she said yes. Well, neadless to say I was so upset I barely slept all night. In the morning I went to the office and her husband came out to speak to me. He called me a liar when I told him his wife had agreed to this price and he said I had to pay the difference. I told him I would not pay anymore money and told him I wanted a refund and would be leaving. He had NO ONE ELSE staying here and he was willing to run us off and loose 3 additional days of money rather than keep the agreement made by his wife..or employee. This says ALOT about the mindset of these foreign owners. Bartering the room price is an every day ordeal a patron must go through when dealing with Foreign owned Hotels. It is common practice for them to try to overcharge a customer and apparently it is also a practice at this location to Lie and then breach a verbal agreement and contract with customers. Don't go here this people are not honest and can not be trusted.
