My husband and I spend our wedding night as guests here and it couldn't have been more perfect. The room was exquisite - beautifully decorated and appointed, spotless and very comfortable. Cecilia and Gordon were wonderful hosts - warm and welcoming. If we ever have reason to travel to Wilkes-Barre again, we will definitely stay here.

We arrived late but Gordon carried our bags in and helped us get settled in the Gold room. It was immaculate and beautiful, as is the entire house. The bed was very comfortable (though squeeky!) and the breakfast Cecelia made was one of the best I've had at any B & B. The house is on an old residential street a few blocks from the college. The walk along the canal at night is very nice and well-lit and Gordon was very kind to call ahead to make sure Toscana Cafe was serving so we could have a superb dinner. Hillard House is a wonderful place to stay with top-notch service from the owners!!

This B&B is a great place to stay in Wilkes-Barre. We arrived late, after riding a huge storm all the way from Washington DC, and found our room very comfortable and cozy. Our hosts directed us to a good Italian restaurant nearby, and phoned ahead to make sure the kitchen stayed open for us. We had a great time over a very good breakfast the next morning, and felt like we were leaving old friends. We will certainly try to stay at Hillard house next time we travel from Virginia back to our home in Ontario, Canada.

From the second we arrived, Gordon and Cecelia could not have done more to make us feel at home. This was a family trip -- my mother (83) and aunt (90) grew up in WIlkes Barre and had lots of questions and remembrances to share with our hosts. They were treated like VIPs. Perfect set up for us, from afternoon aperitifs, to delicious breakfasts, and a darling little elevator to help tired guests up the stairs after a full day. We will be back!
