I was able to check-in 2hrs early with no hassle . Very close to
Mohegan Sun and downs. Great italian restaraunt across the street in plaza . Lots of locals and very cold beer. The only thing i would suggest is bring your own pillow. They were child size and no comfort. I did save a lot of money compared to the Woodlands next door.(which really isn't in the woods it's alongside a highway).

Candlewood Suites WIlkes Barre is a wonderful place to stay.
I arrived ahead of my husband by a day, and was very tired. The staff at the desk was very kind and informative. I was hungry and the Cupboard where you could get food and take it to your room was perfect. Then I got to the room. Wow! It was spotless, huge, had a full kitchen and a comfy recliner, and a great bed. I could not have been happier! One lady in particular at the desk helped make this stay perfect. She knew lots of info that made our life easier while we were in the area, and was pretty much our travel agent as well. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and would reccomend it to anyone!

I'd never heard of the Candlewood Suites before but I would definitely recommend it to all my friends. The rooms were absolutely huge and spotless. It's perfect for business travelers because you have a full size refrigerator, a stovetop, a microwave, and cabinets with dishes and a dishwasher so that you can make your own meals -- there's also a fitness room where you can lift weights and a free laundry where you can wash your clothes. There were lots of conveniences here: complimentary dishwashing soap (by hand), dishwashing detergent (by machine), paper towels, DVDs, CDs, and even a free bag of popcorn. The Candlewood Cupboard had everything you needed for a quick breakfast or dinner or even dessert and was on the honor system. My complaint is that I was quoted a base rate of $71 and received a base rate of $80, so keep an eye on your bill in the morning.

This is the first Candlewood Suites we have ever stayed at, and we were very impressed...especially with the price. It was right off I-81 which makes it easy...and it is less than 1 mile to the arena. The staff was great, the room was clean and spacious (the bathroom was huge). Alot of little things made it nice....extra roomy shower, free DVD's to watch in your room, 25 cent sodas...etc. My only "complaint" (which are just minor nit-picky stuff)...it sits on top of a little hill and you cant see it from the road below....so you have to pay attention for the sign and entrance. But its worth the hassle.
