“Beautiful Inn, Amazing Breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 June 2011

This Inn is beautifully located. Close to hiking and biking trails.
The Cherry Room was very comfortable, and the 2 person spa tub was delightful.
Best of all, as vegetarians, we're used to a very limited selection at most B&Bs. But Dave prepared special eggless muffins and pancakes especially for us, as well as other luscious breakfast dishes that gave us a full belly and fueled us for a day of hiking.

“A wonderful and secluded Bed & Breakfast in the Pocono's...”

I was looking for a place to go away with my girlfriend for a romantic weekend getaway. The hustle and bustle of city life had gotten to both of us. I happened across the Inn at Hickory Run while doing a search for romantic getaways and determined that this was the place. The rooms (4 available) are each in a different wood theme. I selected the Cherry Room, being it was listed as the most secluded one available. It was indeed as listed, being off the dinette area, while the other three rooms are all off the common area of the Inn and closer to the entrance. Each room has a nice King Sized bed, In-room fireplace, Television with DVD player, a CD/Radio, a large Whirlpool Bath and separate Shower stall in a roomy bathroom. Free WiFi is available for those needing to keep in touch with the outside world or look up more information about nearby things to do.

Dave, the owner was one of the most hospitable persons I have met in a long time. From the moment we arrived, he was very helpful in getting us in and setup, as well as understanding our needs and what we had planned for the weekend. We were one of three couples staying there over the weekend and I could see he was willing to give advice on things to do in the area based on each of our plans. From fishing to shopping to places to eat or just simply relaxing, he was helpful to all of us and served as a springboard for my INTERNET look-ups. As an added note, all of the rooms are on the first floor, so it makes it easy for anyone who may have physical limitations. Being the floors are all wood, bring a pair of slippers to walk around the house if you are staying in.

Each night, Dave had snacks, fresh fruit, coffee, tea and refreshments available in the dining area and there was also a small refrigerator available if you brought your own stuff that needed to be kept chilled. Breakfast each morning was served early enough to give you a full day for yourself but not too early that you were not rested. In addition, it was tasty and home made. Dave showed he was very in tune with his guests in a very short period of time. Sunday morning, he served Ham & Cheese Quiches with Home-fries and not being a cheese person, I simply skipped the quiche. Dave, while sitting with us talking, noticed I wasn't eating it, and immediately offered to make something else in it's place. I decided to keep it simple and had some scrambled eggs.

In the common area, there is a nice sized couch and chairs with a larger TV and DVD player available along with a selection of DVD's available to watch, either there or in your room. There is a fireplace divides the common area with the ding area and some comfortable chairs to relax in front of the fireplace.

If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing place to get away from it all, I would highly recommend the Inn at Hickory Run. My girlfriend and I both plan on making a number of return trips in the future, just for the two of us.

“Absolutely Amazing”

This B&B is simply the best. The rooms are quiet, relaxing and each have a fireplace to keep warm. We were more the happy with the breakfast that was offered to us, you will not go hungry when you're staying here. The fruit, muffins and main breakfast plate served both mornings we were there were delicious. The snacks and drinks provided were more then enough to get through the night if needed.

We planned on hiking while staying here. Dave was more then helpful in helping us find what we were looking for. The tidbits about different areas and things to do also helped us find our way around this area.

Don't miss out on an amazing stay and great company. Dave, Thank you for making our weekend so relaxing and enjoyable.

We're hoping to stay here again in the fall.

“Perfect getaway weekend!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2010

The Inn a Hickory Run surpassed every expectation we had. The Inn itself is beautifully decorated and sooo clean! There are 4 rooms, each with a different wood theme, i.e. Birch room, Maple room, Oak and Cherry - all are on the 1st floor. We stayed in the Maple room, which had a fireplace and a big bathroom two person jacuzzi tub. Each room had a DVD player and wireless/wired internet access, which we liked.

We arrived around 4:30 PM and David, the host, gave us a tour, gave us suggestions for area restaurants and put out snacks for us (ice tea, grapes/apples). Later that night, he laid out hot apple cider, tea/coffee, and cookies. It really was wonderful. The bedding was very comfortable and high quality.

Bunny works at the Inn and she made great breakfasts. The first morning we had fresh fruit, home-made corn muffins and pecan waffles & bacon. The next day we had fresh fruit, blueberry muffins, quiche and potatoes, juice and tea/coffee.

Both David and Bunny were helpful in suggesting daytime activities, e.g. visiting nearby Jim Thorpe or hikes in the Hictory Run state park. We went to Jim Thorpe and took a sceneric train ride and did some shopping.

For dinner, you should plan to drive 20-30 minutes. We ate at the Powerhouse Eatery (steak/seafood), the first night and it was very good.

We definitely plan to return in the Spring and highly recommend this Inn.

“Excellant place to stay to get away form it all!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2009

My wife and I planned a get away for our 25th wedding anniversary- someplace we have not gone too before. Wanted to do some hiking and attend the Nascar race. What a great choice we made by staying at this Inn. Dave, the owner, was great- all his dining tips were right on as well as his directions to the track at Long Pond. While the web site does not mention breakfast, Dave and his assitant made some nice items for the weekend breakfast as well as setting up a nice spread for the Continental breakfast during the week day. We definately plan on going back!
