One of the most beautiful inns my wife and I have ever stayed in. The attention to detail and authentic English decor is breathtaking. Linda was a very gracious host and sent us information on various dining establishments in the area and sent us links to those restaurants. She was more than happy to make the reservations for us. Our room was lovely with a large bathroom and sitting room adjoining the main bedroom. Breakfast was an experience. Before the main meal there was an assortment of scones, popovers, assorted breads, homemade cereal with fruit and nuts (“don’t call it granola!" says Linda.)
Clotted cream, lemon curd, and other preserves were provided. Our traditional English breakfast consisted of an omelet, with tomatoes and mushrooms on the side. Breakfast was served by candlelight. Linda takes pride in using as many organic and local ingredients as possible.
The inn was immaculate and Linda took pride in showing us around and explaining all the renovation work and architectural details of the house. The results of the renovation speak for itself. She is a font of knowledge when it comes to the Revolutionary War and the role the now Goshenville Historic District played during this period. Linda can guide you to many of the area attractions as well and has printed directions to them.
Next time you are in the Brandywine Valley make it a point to stay here. You won’t be disappointed.
