Four years ago, when my daughter and I traveled to State College for orientation, she and I stayed in the Happy Valley Moton Inn. It was OK. I was impressed with the flowers that they planted on the property. It made up for some other deficiences. Now, four years later, my daughter was graduating and so my husband and I decided to stay at the Happy Valley Motor Inn again. The experience was awful. I will never stay here again. It is a family run motel, so I can forgive the worn carpets and the small rooms and the creaking plywood hallway leading to the upstairs rooms. But there is no excuse for the hallways floors and stairs to be littered with debris and for the bathroom to be actively growing mold on every wall. That is pure laziness on the part of both the cleaning people and the manager who supervises them. I passed a very sleepless night with the downstairs outer door banging as guests entered and left.
