“Good Bargain”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2011

Have stayed here annually for a football weekend for several years. The rooms are small but clean. The beds are comfortable. The shower/toilet is in what appears to be a modular unit. The furniture in the room is all sort of modular but functional. The staff has always been friendly and there are cookies at check-in. Free breakfast in a nice area near the lobby. The football weekend rate is fair for what you get, compared to what other hotels in the town charge.

“Good choice for business traveler”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2011

I stayed recently on a trip to central Pa, where do to geography there is not a lot of choices in this region, especially if you have to head west from State College. I was very pleased with the hotel. Check in staff was very pleasant and helpful. Parts of the hall ways could use some sprucing up but,the rooms were very clean, quiet, bedding was great and internet was very fast. Cont. breakfast was OK, but for the price a very good value. There are many places to eat very close by

“fit the bill for what we needed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2011

stayed here during the big arts festival - reasonably priced - small rooms (but we were hardly in it - so no big deal) - clean (although the 1st floor hall rug looked alot more beat up than our 2nd floor hall rug - i guess more traffic) --- a screened window you could open. instead of using the a/c - very nice - front desk somewhat knowledgable - sent us to the delicious mario's restaurant across the road.....

“Sleep Inns Are Always a Surprise-Not Always a Good One.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 July 2011

Sometimes I stay in a Sleep Inn just to see how different (weird) the bathroom will be. My husband and I spent 2 nights, Thursday and the following Sunday going to and returning from an event in NW PA. I asked for a room with a bathtub since the bathrooms in 2 other Sleep Inns where we previously stayed were beyond weird. The room with the bathtub was okay and a good size. It was a handicapped accessible room and I think that was why it was fairly large. The pipes made a loud knocking sound for about 5 minutes whenever the water was used in the room next to ours. The water diffuser didn’t work well so half the water for a shower came out of the bathtub faucet, resulting in a very low water pressure shower. On our return trip, we had a room with a shower. The bathroom was so small that it had a pocket door since there was not enough room for a regular door. The toilet slowly leaked, constantly causing a slight noise. The sink was outside the bathroom about 18” from the bed. Sleeping when the sink is beiing used is not possible.
The breakfast was advertised as deluxe. If it was deluxe, I sure wouldn’t want to see their regular breakfast. The only way to have anything hot was to use the microwave or toaster. There wasn’t even a Belgium waffle maker. Since we stayed 2 different nights and the breakfast was the same both times, I think what they served is their normal “not deluxe in my opinion” selection.
Check in and check-out was quick and easy. The lobby is nice and the furniture and mattresses in both rooms were in good condition and the rooms were clean. It is a bit away from the road so there was no traffic noise.

“Ok hotel. Small rooms and uncomfortable beds, but clean.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 July 2011

Stayed here with husband and son traveling through State College. hotel is in a convenient location near restaurants, and shopping. Was shocked how tiny our room was. Bathroom is claustrophobic, but good shower! We all agreed that the beds were not comfortable. Old tv that needs to be upgraded to a flat screen. Breakfast wasn't like a typical continental breakfast...only cereal, bagels, muffins, yogurt or fruit. (NO eggs or waffles or anything like that) For the price, probably wouldn't stay here again.
