We made reservations for this past weekend... from viewing website only, forgot to check TripAdvisor!!!! We pulled in and this place was so run down looking, over grown, broken chairs, broken swing sets, dark and unwelcoming from outside, very scary looking!!! We turned our car around and left and stayed at another reputable resort in Marshalls Creek! The manager called us about an hour after leaving this facility. I flat out told him he had a lot of false advertising going on and there was no way we were returning little alone willing to stay there!!! He simply said, "ok" and that was that! Seriously, I'm very picky and this might have been a lovely place in it's hayday.... but no longer!

The sterling Inn was so peaceful and relaxing. The property was kept very well and the staff was very nice. Home like setting. You get your own little cabin across from the main house. Very nice dinning area with very good food. Would love to go back again and again. A little pricey but you get what you pay for!

This was a terrible experience. There were surprise charges when we signed in. The grounds were not kept. The stay was for the hotel but we were upgraded to cottages. We had previously stayed here with my 3 children's families and had wonderful experiences. My son and daughter-in-law left at 11pm. They found garbage under the bed. Some bugs and blood. They asked for another cottage and found it similar. It is sad to see this place being run so poorly.

Four of us.. my husband and i and 2 children(10 & 7).. cute rustic cottage, jacuzzi, paddle boating and the best part.... Customer Service!!!! The nicest people own this mini resort.. working in nyc.. its these little things that made this birthday getaway awsome for us all!!!!
