“Feels like home”

This is our home away from home a few times a year. We are headed out there in a few days. Sue and her "girls" are very friendly and accommodating. We have our favorite room which has three beds. You can always find someone to talk to when you are sitting outside any time of the day and of course Ty, Boots and Mango (Sue's cats) will always make you feel at home. They love to come in your room and plop on the bed, if they are invited. A microwave, refrigerator, hair dryer, and other amenities add to the charm of the Quiet Haven. There is a one room schoolhouse right down the road and if you get up early enough you can see the boys and girls walking or peddling their scooters to school. Ask Sue for the best places to eat. There are a lot of hidden treasures on back roads, not just for eating but also for shopping. If you have children, don't miss the Hayloft Candle Factory. They have a small zoo and hand dipped ice cream. Across the street is a farm stand with delicious oatmeal raisin cookieschow-chow and raisin bread. If you want a quiet relaxing place this is it.

Room Tip: Room 5 is our favorite, spacious, comfortable.

“The perfect respite during Dutch Wonderland trip!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2011

We love this place, and it is so close to Dutch Wonderland, we could come back to the hotel for lunch and not miss a beat! It was the perfect place to take a break during the day - but the best part was coming back in the evening and seeing the multitude of fireflies sparking in the night sky.

For a place right off the main drag (VERY convenient to the outlet malls and Dutch Wonderland), the 'quiet' in Quiet Haven is incredibly accurate. It's a family-run, tiny place - not a luxury hotel, or a great place for busloads of teenagers - but it's out in the country and calm as can be. The kids love playing with the pets on the property, and prices can't be beat. Ask for a corner room if you want a real treat! We got lucky last year and got 3 beds instead of 2 - with tons of room for the kids to play in the middle. Love it.

“Disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2010

After reading many reviews for this motel we decided to stay here. The room was nothing like what we were expecting. I thought I had misread the reviews. When we walked in the room smelled of a dirty rug and everything looked very dark and tired. Needed updating. There was just the two of us and whoever took the second shower did not have enough hot water. The bed mattress was very very uncomfortable. This is the main reason we checked out 2 days early. Our backs could not take another night. The air conditioner was very loud and had to shut it off. Opened the window instead for air, but decided to turn the AC back on because a street light glared in the room.Plus the room's wall seemed thin so we could hear noise and talking from the room beside us. The owner was very sweet and nice.We will not be staying here again. Disappointed but not with the owner.

“Almost Paradise”

We've been coming to Lancaster for over 35 years, but this was our fist time at the Quiet Haven (didn't know about it before this), Let me tell you, we are going to make this our home away from home from now on. Our trip was a spur of the moment this time, so I didn't call ahead to our usual motel to reserve a room. Well, we were not having any luck finding a room for the night, and I happened to spot the sign for Quiet Haven and drove up the road to the motel. I lucked out as they had one vacancy left, so I took it, and I have to tell you, we slept like we haven't slept in years. My Husband was in la la land no sooner than his head hit the pillow. I usually take awhile to nod off and then am up 3, 4 or more times a night, even at home. Well, not last night, I fell asleep immediately and never opened my eyes till 7:15 a.m. this morning. Best nights sleep I ever had....and as far as the room, the atmosphere, the staff, etc, it was wonderful. I sat out front of our room, chatting with other guests, and just enjoying the country air, the buggies driving by and just being at home away from home. From now on we will be calling ahead and booking our room whenever we head to Lancaster, which we do several times a year.

If you want to just relax and have a nice clean place to spend the night, Quiet Haven is the place to visit. Reasonable too!

“Quiet Haven Says It All”

We have stayed at The Quiet Haven every year for the past ten years. We go to get away from things, not to stay connected. The beds were so comfortable we hardly moved. The owners were quite friendly and the cats came in the room. If you want to expirience Lancaster yet be close to everything, this is the place to stay.
