“Nothing fancy, nice place, good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2007

I am a bit surprised by the bad reviews. If you notice my reviews, I spend a lot of time in south east PA for business, and I have stayed in quite a few hotels in this area. Generally speaking, I have found Best Westerns to be less than average in quality. This hotel is one of the exceptions. I have stayed here twice so far, and I have been quite satisfied.

Like a lot of the Best Westerns in the area, it is a bit on the older side, but this place appears to be well kept. In both my stays I have stayed in room 106. Nothing fancy, appears to be fairly clean, and the room is above average in size.

Right next to a shopping center, with several restaurants nearby, with many in walking distance. Being on the road all the time, having a restaurant within walking distance is a big plus at the end of a long day. Route 309 is at the corner of the block, and if you take the turnpike, it is about 4 miles from the Quakertown exit. While there are a few motels right at the turnpike exit, if you are looking for a place to eat, you are probably going to drive to this neighborhood anyway, so you might as well stay here.

The breakfast area is fairly small, and a very typical toast, cereal and coffee. The staff seems very nice. As far as value, the price is below average for the area. I have stayed here twice so far, and will use it again when I need a hotel in the area.

  • Liked — Great Value, restaurants nearby
  • Disliked — Pretty plain accomodations, no pool no gameroom, etc..

“Not that clean if you look close.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 June 2007

In June 2007, we took a 3500 mile road trip around theme parks. The hotels selected for the trip were based on location, price and previous trip advisor feedback. Most hotels were ‘just a room for the night’ with little other facilities being used except the free breakfast where available. All bookings were made with the hotel’s website direct 6 months in advance.

No problems with the renovation that others had, and all seems good on the surface. However, I dropped something down by the bed, and the area between the bed and cabinet was filthy, with dust, dirt, old food bits and couple of used plasters for good measure. Ugh!

  • Liked — Nice chatty staff.
  • Disliked — Not that clean if you look close.

When my husband and I arrived at the hotel there was a note on the outside of their door stating they were renovating. We didn't have any problem with that.

We were there for two nights. When we got back from a long day, we arrived to our room, and our keys didn't work. Desk clerk had to reprogram them - the same clerk that confirmed we were there for 2 nights - thought we left completely. Once inside the room - all light fixtures were removed.

I had to go down and tell the clerk there were no lights in our room anymore. He almost didn't believe me. Blames the workers fixing up the hotel that they didn't understand english language, which I thought was funny, since they talked to us earlier that morning. They understood english just fine.

We had to move all of our stuff to another room. He said that we would receive a discount for the inconvience. Fine.
When we checked out next morning - how amazing that their was no discount. Do not stay at this hotel.

“Excellent Value!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2006

Excellent value. Nice, clean, friendly and very worthwhile value. I would highly recommend this hotel. To make it excellent, they would just need a fitness room and/or pool. But if you want a clean room/bed and comfortable stay, this is THE hotel in Quakertown.

“good value”

We decided at the last minute to get a hotel room and watch Hurricane Katrina roll in that Sunday night, and stopped here. The outside of the building is dated and could use an upgrade. The inside lobby / coffee shop area is much nicer. After speaking with the front desk agent, a very polite young woman, we decided to stay. The room was nice & clean. Plenty of towels and toiletry items. Large TV. Bathroom sink is outside of the shower/toilet area... easier for 2 people to get ready. Not luxurious, but overall good choice for a great price.
