“Reminded us of a Greyhound bus terminal”

This was our first and last visit to an Extended Suites hotel. When we arrived at check-in, the clerk said her system was down, and that she would need to photocopy our credit card. But she couldn't figure out how to use the photocopier (she kept hitting it), and left several photocopies of our card lying around on both of her counters during our 15 minute check-in. She wanted us to sign two of the photocopies for her "files" - very strange. Then she wanted $15 extra to give us a room with two DOUBLE beds. When we arrived in the room, the kitchen trash was full from the night before. We put the entire can in the hallway, where it stayed until two days later when we checked out.

I agree with an earlier poster about the lobby feeling "sterile". It was also very smoky. When we loaded our luggage on the elevator, it was even more smoky - we got off and loaded up the stairway instead. The second floor hallway was also smoky. And at 2:30am we woke up to more cigarette smoke coming into our vent from another room.

There is no shampoo, hair dryer or functioning alarm clock in the room. The walls are very thin. You can't get a wake-up call, because the one employee who works in the hotel leaves at 11pm. The coffee maker in the room was gross, and the laminate was peeling off the kitchen counter. The towels are thin and about the size of our hand towels at home. The mattress was actually in fairly good shape for the rest of the hotel, but a bit firm for our taste.

I should also note that I only paid $35 for this room on Priceline, but Priceline has grossly mistaken this property to be a 2* quality - should be no more than 1*. About the only good thing going for this hotel is the Starbucks across the parking lot.

“Convenient, clean, moderately priced in Philly metro suburbs”

This was a convenient and moderately-priced extended stay hotel to stay at during the first week of a home remodel project.
Located between two large shopping malls, plenty of places to eat. Great heat in the room! - controlled by the guest. Refrigerator a bit noisy but I got used to it. I had checked out web reviews of several other moderate priced hotels in the King of Prussia/ Plymouth Meeting area, decided against them after reading reviews. This one was clean and quiet. Rooms have kitchenette area, just needed in the pantry larger bowls - cereal bowl size. Some token stationary would have been useful. Useful and clean laundramat area. Considering that guests may be doing extended stays, the front guest area (not check-in lobby) could use something to make it more cheerful, less sterile.

Do yourself a favor and don't stay there.

“Basic Hotel - if price is right. Poor Work areas”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2007

I stay in this area a few times a year and usually just need a clean quiet room and a comfortable bed. I use Priceline and usually end up with Spring Hill Suites or the Residence Inn (in nearby Conshocken). It’s always on a weekend and this is a business area. This time – for some reason – I couldn’t get a reasonable price on a 2 star in the area so went for a one star and got this esa. I paid about 6% of their Internet price. So I didn’t expect much. I got what I expected.

Esa’s are long stay hotels. They pride themselves on saving you money. Unless you stay a week you don’t get housekeeping. You remake your own bed and you can change your towels at front desk. I wasn’t there to “do business” but I looked at the facilities from that angle. There is Wifi but it costs extra. Check in is late (3pm) and check out is early (11am). There is a kitchen with one set of pots, pans, dishes and a coffee maker. (Mine was corroded) and you get ONE bag of coffee (2 cups) and they don’t have tea or decaf (I asked). There is a Toaster Oven, Full Refrigerator/Freezer and microwave.

Bathroom is large and you get two small soaps. Don’t forget to bring shampoo (which even Motel 6 now gives you). It’s not there.

The room has a digital alarm clock. NOT a radio. But there is cable TV.

I’m assuming my room was typical (a Queen non-smoking). It was HUGE with lots of space but minimal furniture. Two small work tables but nothing the size of a desk. If you want a desk, bring your own<g>!

Better set your alarm cause you can’t call the “desk” after 11. It’s open 7am to 11pm. I came in my first (of two nights) and my key card wouldn’t work in the front door slot. There is a phone there to call the “night person” who came and let me in and had to open office to make me new card so I could get into my room. The next night I got in at 2am and the card AGAIN wouldn’t work and I went through same process.

If you like to sleep late be aware that the curtains leak light at the edges and that could wake you up.

The air conditioning worked well and the vent is far enough from the bed that it doesn’t blow on you.

As the other reviewer said, the best bet for breakfast is Starbucks next door. There are no supermarkets really close to buy things to cook if only staying one or two nights.

The carpet was really stained and quality of a moderately worn Motel 6 or Days Inn.

Would I stay here again? Yes , for $40/night or less. Otherwise I might look into the 2 star hotels in area that give you 24 hour service, and usually a breakfast included.

At RETAIL price of $85./up per night (that was the refundable Internet Only rate), I’d look elsewhere.

  • Liked — LOcation for where I needed and price on Priceline
  • Disliked — Having to bring own Tea and having room key not work at 2am both nights
