I stayed 1 night for a Steelers game. Hotel was good. Room was a good size, clean and updated. Was in a low room, so had a view of the parking deck. No free breakfast here so I went to McDonald's. Free coffee and Tea. I thought the parking rate (valet only) was high since it wasn't downtown. A 15-30 minute ride to Heinz Field depending upon traffic and lights. Room was quiet even though it was next to the elevator. Friendly staff at check in and at the valet.

For the money this place is great, but it is a bit out of the way from the NorthShore, Southshore, Downtown and Strip District. Don't plan on taking cabs to get around either as the city licenses only 10 (well it seemed like that). You're forced to drive in Pittsburgh.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give this hotel a 7. This was supposed to be a non-smoking property, but someone had obviously been smoking in the first room we were given. A call to the front desk was all it took to get a different room just a few steps down the hall. The room was spacious but the only mirrors were in the bathroom/vanity area. The closet was tiny with barely enough room for the few clothes we brought for our weekend stay. There was no self-parking available, and the valet parking fee of almost $18 per day seemed high, especially with tipping on top of that. The staff was friendly and accommodating. It was snowing the first morning of our stay and we chose to walk to a nearby restaurant for breakfast. We were given directions AND an umbrella by one of the front desk personnel, which was an unexpected kindness. Two important things to me--a comfortable bed and a shower with good water pressure--this hotel provided both.

The hotel itself is definitely average, nothing fancy, no extras, I would say this hotel is overpriced, but it is across the street from the hospital and you can walk to Bloomfield. I would only recommend staying here if you are interested in these 2 attractions. Like the other reviews stated does not live up to the Marriott standards and the parking fee is a little pricey. Overall the hotel did seem clean.
