Let me start this review by saying that our one night stay at this hotel was a birthday gift from our daughter to my husband and our son-who were both born on Feb 3. (Our daughter has been deployed for a year in the Army. She has been to Afghanistan, Kuwait and Iraq. She is in the Mortuary Affairs Unit which sees the carnage of our soldiers in the Middle East and prepares them to come home after they have given the ultimate sacriface.) Since our daughter cant be with us to celebrate she reserved two rooms at this exquisite hotel. Little did we know how fortunate we were that she selected such a wonderful hotel with such a gracious staff from her computer in Kuwait. From the moment we got there, the Manager and Director of Rooms extended a warm welcome but once they found out about our daughter serving in the Military-they went beyond. They changed our reservation and upgraded it. They gave us rooms with the most spectacualr view of the city including PNC park and the Heinz Field. Not only did they upgrade our rooms to a suite but gave us three connecting rooms along with a free cheese platter and complimentary valet service. As we were checking in-our daugher called from Kuwait and we couldnt couldnt tell her enough about how beautiful the hotel was and the service that was being provided. I was in tears. It is absolutely refreshing to find someone in the Industry to show such high regard for our militaryby honoring their families. What a blessing this stay was and the hotel staff were absolutely inspirational. Even at the restaurant inside the hotel-we were treated so special and our waiter, George, did not even know the circumstances by which we were visiting. I would highly reccommend this hotel to anyone. It woudl be my choice of all the hotels in Pittsbugth. The location is fabulous, chose to both fields,casino and restaurants. Even the gym has updated equipment and very modern and clean. There was not one thing negative about this stay. Just Excellant. We have stayed at a lot of hotels but the staff at this hotel are exceptional. Thank you Renaissance Marriott Pittsburgh Hotel.
