“Frequent Guest”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Agreed with all comments; it is a very clean, very modern, and well kept property. You will not go wrong with your choice; I am a Hilton HonorsDiamond but when in Pittsburgh I stay in this property. Comfort to Rate value is excellent. Safety/Security is goo. Exercise room is very good clean and has 4 modern and functioning trademill with two eliptical machines, dumbell sets. In short what you see in the pictures is what you will find. Staff is very helpfull. The hotel has a quick bite restaurant not too many options but adequate for those nights where you just want to crash in after a long business day. The mall is accros the street atop the hill but I would not recomend walking the access to the hotel is a tricky if you are not familiar with Pitt. The only small inconvinience is the access in/out of the hotel.

Room Tip: Try to book a room facing the mall side not the freeway.

“Nice Motel in a Good Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

A newer Courtyard property with a classy look. The location is convenient - about halfway between the airport and downtown Pittsburgh. The main fault was the entrance and egress from the parking lot which is, at best, inconvenient due to layout of the street. Service and quality were up to Marriott standards. Two exceptions were a loud HVAC unit and our bed was made up with the top sheet on top of the comforter instead of underneath it. HVAC units are a pet peeve of mine because I am a light sleeper and the HVAC unit kept waking me up even on the low fan setting so I had to turn it off. Fortunately it wasn't too cold outside so the room stayed warm enough during the night. There is no bathtub but the tile and glass shower was a unique feature of the bathroom. The bathroom itself was large enough but the sink, shower and toilet were all together. That doesn't matter much if you are travelling alone but with two or more in the room, a separate sink is a nice convenience. The room had a big, flat screen TV, wired and wireless internet and a comfortable bed. Food service was acceptable but there is huge shopping center just across the road with lots of good places to shop and eat. An even bigger shopping area is just minutes away. Overall I would rate this a bit better than "good" but the loud HVAC kept me from rating it "very good".

“New Property with Great Showers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 December 2011

I cannot stand the bathtub shower combinations that hotels have, it feels like you are standing in a half pipe! Well, the showers at this hotel will excite you. There is no bathtub, just a neat walk in shower with a glass wall to replace that moldy shower curtain and the shower head is a rain fall type. If your in the Pittsburgh area, this is the place to stay!

“Nice hotel, close to shopping”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2011

My husband and I travel to Pittsburgh at least once a year to visit his family. We have stayed in a few of the Marriott hotels throughout the area and have never had a problem with any of them. This hotel is brand new and close to shopping and right off a major highway. Some reviewers claimed that the rooms on the highway side were noisy, so we requested one on the other side and had no problems with outside noise. We also requested an extended king size suite, which had a refrigerator and microwave in the room. The refrigerator came in very handy because breakfast is not included in the rate of the room, so we just bought breakfast products and were able to store them in the fridge. Because the room was longer, we did not hear much noise from the hallway, even though we were right next to the elevator. The only major flaw that we found with the location of this hotel is that the road directly in front of it does not have a turning lane to get to the hotel. We had to constantly drive through the shops on the opposite side of the road to make a u-turn to get back to the hotel driveway. Other than that, we were very pleased with the hotel. Go Steelers!

Room Tip: The rooms facing the highway are noisy, so I would definitely recommend a room on the other side of...

“Very Sleek”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

I booked a 2-night stay at this hotel using a combination of points and money. For starters, it's only 15,000 points/night, which is a steal! I also booked with like 5 minutes notice, as we were staying at a Holiday Inn Express down the street that was less than ideal. Marriott was able to get me a room without any problems.

The location is excellent. It's about 10 minutes from the Pittsburgh airport, and the hotel offers free shuttle service. It's across the street from a huge shopping center that also has several bars and restaurants. It's also about five minutes from the Robinson mall. Everything you could want, including Wal-Mart, is very close by.

As far as the hotel...WOW! It is gorgeous inside! The lobby is very modern and clean, and there's a business center, lounge area, nice gym and indoor pool. My girlfriend and I were surprised by how much Marriott caters to the business traveler here - there were several flat screens with updated flight information and local attractions.

The room itself is perfect. This hotel seems to have an understated Asian theme going on, and it makes for a very modern, comfortable room. It doesn't really feel like a hotel at all. We were lucky enough to get upgraded to a massive suite, which was a nice touch.

There are however, a few downsides that I've noticed. The hotel is literally touching I-376 on one side, and a very busy road on the other. We could hear traffic at 3am, even though we're on the 5th floor. The rooms also have surprisingly thin walls: as I write this review, I can hear a a lady clearing her throat in the room next to me.

Besides the noise, this hotel is perfect for the business traveler. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Stay away from elevators. And facing away from 376 is probably quieter, but I'm not sure.
