I booked a 2-night stay at this hotel using a combination of points and money. For starters, it's only 15,000 points/night, which is a steal! I also booked with like 5 minutes notice, as we were staying at a Holiday Inn Express down the street that was less than ideal. Marriott was able to get me a room without any problems.
The location is excellent. It's about 10 minutes from the Pittsburgh airport, and the hotel offers free shuttle service. It's across the street from a huge shopping center that also has several bars and restaurants. It's also about five minutes from the Robinson mall. Everything you could want, including Wal-Mart, is very close by.
As far as the hotel...WOW! It is gorgeous inside! The lobby is very modern and clean, and there's a business center, lounge area, nice gym and indoor pool. My girlfriend and I were surprised by how much Marriott caters to the business traveler here - there were several flat screens with updated flight information and local attractions.
The room itself is perfect. This hotel seems to have an understated Asian theme going on, and it makes for a very modern, comfortable room. It doesn't really feel like a hotel at all. We were lucky enough to get upgraded to a massive suite, which was a nice touch.
There are however, a few downsides that I've noticed. The hotel is literally touching I-376 on one side, and a very busy road on the other. We could hear traffic at 3am, even though we're on the 5th floor. The rooms also have surprisingly thin walls: as I write this review, I can hear a a lady clearing her throat in the room next to me.
Besides the noise, this hotel is perfect for the business traveler. I would definitely stay here again.
Room Tip: Stay away from elevators. And facing away from 376 is probably quieter, but I'm not sure.
