“Best staff I've ever encountered! Amazing hotel!”

i took my wife and kids to a penguins game in january. we picked this hotel because of what we read on here and it's definitely all true!!! the hotel is close to almost every worth-while spot in the city, convenient to get on and off the highway. they have a shuttle that runs to and from the hotel, and even brought us to the arena. the staff is out of this world. james at the front desk was a pleasure to deal with and was very fun and welcoming. we were concerned about the room size at check in, but once we got upstairs we realized we'd be fine. the hotel is brand new, very clean and the 2 room family suite is perfect for a bigger family like ours. regardless, james called the room about a half hour after we walked in just to check on us and to make sure we were comfortable. that's the first time i've ever had a front desk person follow up with a concern without warrant. he even spent time listening to my 7 year old son's stories about the game and even snuck into the kitchen to get him a late-night chocolate milk. nerissa was great too, she made great dinner recommendations and set up our shuttle to the arena. the driver was very punctual and friendly. it was overall one of the best hotels i've ever stayed in, and i'll definitely use them again when i need to be in pittsburgh.

“Excellent staff, immaculate room and perfect location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

We had the best time at this property! The staff was super friendly and helpful in guiding us around town. The front desk went above and beyond to make us feel at home, especially Zack who took the time to provide places to go and how to get there. He was attentive to me and also my two small children( a huge plus in my book). Our room was super clean and the kitchen was an added bonus making this a family friendly spot. Can't say enough good things about this gem of property close to the family friendly museums and sites. Already want to plan a trip back!

“As Good as Advertised”

I read the reviews and was skeptical that this could be a #1 hotel in Pittsburgh. The reviews were right. The location was great. Close to the river. Directly next to the Pirates stadium. A block or so from the Steelers stadium. Great restaurants nearby. The lobby is nicer than any Residence Inn I have been to. The kite sting area is large and very modern. The evening guest reception was great. The morning breakfast selections we great as well. The pool was narrow, but nice. The fitness room was not very big, but adequate. The rooms were clean and modern. The beds were comfortable. I have no criticisms of this hotel other than the cost of parking your own car.

“Great Hotel”

Modern, stayed in a king suite with one king bed and a pull out sofa. Perfect for a family of 4. Full sized refrigerator, dish washer, microwave, granite counter tops. Beautifully decorated. Location is great too. Easy to get to downtown or station square. Fabulous hot breakfast included.

Cons - which are really not too bad, small lap pool and the rooms although were perfect for us were a little small, wouldn't want 4 adults in a king suite. Parking $18 per day but you can come and go as you please. Housekeeping staff does not speak English (my only issue).

“What an awesome experience!!!”

My family took a last minute mini vacation to take the kids to the Carnegie Science Center. The hotel is located only blocks away and has a shuttle if you need one. PNC Bank Park is directly across the street and Heinz field is a few blocks down the street. There are many restaurants (fancy and family friendly) nearby. Now about the hotel...the staff was very courteous and willing to answer any questions you may have. As stated above, the location is perfect, with easy access to highways as well. The rooms are adequate in size and clean. Our room had a king size bed and a pull out couch for the kids. The room also had a full size refrigerator, sink, dishwasher and resembled a studio apartment. The lobby is beautiful and has wi-fi. It even has a small lap pool and exercise area. The BEST part was the full complimentary breakfast in the morning. It was by far, the best and complete breakfast we ever had at a hotel or motel. I highly recommend the Residence Inn on the North Shore for anyone.
