I stayed here for two nights while attending an interview at one of the colleges. Overall appearance was that the hotel and room were clean. For some reason the hallways had these loud fans on and the temperature in the hallways was definitely over 90 degrees. When we first opened our door to our room the smell was horrible. I can't really pin point what the smell was like but it was a combo of foods like Indian food. The bathroom also had a strong urine smell. The combination of both smells made for a really bad couple of nights. The smell never got better and I was truly unhappy that we picked this place to stay.

As I walked to the front door I noticed the over flowing trash cans. On the way to my room I noticed the drit on the floors and in the elevators. Walked in my room it seemed clean, until I went in the bathroom. I found pubic hair all over the floor, sink, and toilet. Not to mention what appears to be feces smeared on the wall. Other than that there's a package of free popcorn waiting for you you in the microwave and a DVD player. The traffic in the general area is very congested, but plenty of good reataurants in the area. I would not stay there ever again. I like my hotel rooms to be some what equal to the conditions I live in at my home.

I stayed here one night on a business trip and it was excellent. Very clean and comfortable. For business I love the layout of a Candlewood. They also had a very nice fitness center with an elliptical machine. Great location and just what I needed. Would stay again!

I had stayed here before, and, even though I live in Pittsburgh, I felt so comfortable here that I vowed to return for a personal vacation. I did take such a vacation. Now, I am here recuperating from a hospital stay: there is not a better place to recover in the Pittsburgh area.

Everything is in the hotel: full size kitchens in the room with very comfortable beds and high quality linens; a pantry on the first floor if you are too tired or simply cannot get out to grocery shop (a huge bonus: the prices in the hotel market are essentially the same as any grocery store; no gauging! great!); free laundry; exercise room; and free videos.

The staff has been superb. On my second day, there was some trouble with the toilet; a maintenance worker arrived quickly, worked very hard, and cleared the problem in 15 minutes.

Overall, the staff is quite friendly and will offer help as needed (I stayed at another Candlewood Suites in this area and the staff was quite rude; not here; very pleasant).

I see some reports suggesting the hotel is outdated. It is not brand new; however, from what I have seen, there is no indication of outdated. In fact, on the contrary, I would say that the hotel here is no more than 1 year old.

The hotel is also within walking distance to numerous stores: everything from electronics to basic groceries (which is quite nice, since you can cook anything in your kitchen). Another plus is that all rooms have a dishwasher (I know for a fact several, other extended stays do not have dishwashers: it might sound trite but, to me, it makes keeping the room clean much easier).

I could go on but I will conclude by simply saying the hotel is superb and I would not hesitate to return. I see some writings of dust and lazy front desk: I could not disagree more. Again, everyone has done all within their power to assist me. I am very grateful to the staff; and, no, there is not dust piled (unless an occupant caused).

Please stay at Candlewood Suites, Pittsburgh Airport: I say please, since you will do yourself a great favor and feel that your money was spent in the best way possible (indeed, you should feel that, especially with the added amenities such as free laundry), you are getting a bargain ; and, at that, at a very shining, comfortable, warm, and friendly home away from home.
