“Very Nice Stay - Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

My husband and I stayed at the Logan Inn over Valentine's weekend. Although there were other inns in the area that got better reviews, we picked this one because of the location, and we were not disappointed! It is a beautiful inn, nicely decorated, right in the heart of downtown New Hope. Our room had authentic period furniture and was very clean and quaint. Supposedly it's the most haunted room in the house, but neither my husband nor myself experienced anything odd. I have to say though, that we did eat at the adjoining restaurant, and although the food was good, it wasn't worth raving about. Maybe my expectations were just too high after reading all of the positive reviews. We did however, enjoy the live music in the lounge after dinner very much.

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 6, also know as Emily's room. The picture on the website does not do it justi...

“Pleasant but no Gold Star.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2011

The Logan Inn is a historic building right on the main street of New Hope. The room was large, clean and comfortable; the staff was helpful. The room appeared to have been recently painted and the wall-to-wall carpeting was spotless. The air conditioner was noisy. Two drawbacks: no elevator so a third floor room was a hike and a group of ten rowdy drunks got into an altercation in the parking lot right under our window when the bars closed at two AM. There are lots of bars and cafes on the main street and they are usually full in summer, so I do not think this was an isolated event.

Room Tip: Ask for a seond floor room.

“Friendly, clean, convenient.”

On the pro side, Logan Inn staff and management are first rate. Friendly, considerate, helpful. The location provides excellent access to everything you'll want to visit if you're staying in the New Hope area. Rooms are clean and tidy, if very sparsely furnished (there was virtually no place to sit other than the bed, the floor, and one uncomfortable chair, no desk, etc.). There were a few disappointments: no refrigerator, outlet in bathroom didn't work (major problem as hair dryer was affixed to the wall there), phone didn't work, air conditioner sounded like a tractor. The shower was absolutely AWFUL. How hard is it to make a shower work properly? Even the plumbing was weird (hot operated clockwise, cold anticlockwise, making it easy to burn or freeze inadvertently). The bed was also 4.5 feet off the ground, which may have some basis in tradition, but was uncomfortable to use. However, with all of this, I would readily stay at the Logan Inn again. If I'd told the management about these things I'm fairly confident that every effort would have been made to remedy the situation to the extent possible.

“Great location...a little pricey”

We arrived at the Inn at 11am on Saturday morning for a 1 night stay. The Logan Inn requires a minimum 2 night stay on Friday and Saturday nights. They will allow a 1 night stay for an additional $25. I checked the Logan Inn reservation system and found out my room (#19) was not rented on Friday night. Taking that into account I figured an early check in would not be a problem. The woman at the front desk was eating eggs and toast as we arrived. She informed us check in was not until 2pm. I asked her if it was possible to get in early being the room was not occupied the previous night. She made it quite clear an early check in was not possible as she continued to slurp down her eggs in mid-sentence. Needless to say, we came back at 2pm. Very bad first impression!
There are 3 classes of rooms in the Logan Inn (standard, premium and deluxe). Deluxe rooms are supposed to be the largest rooms and are the most expensive. Room Nineteen, according to the Logan Inn website, is supposed to be the most exclusive and luxurious room in the Logan Inn. With that said, the room was very nice. The bed and pillows are comfortable which made for a good nights sleep. It's on the 3rd floor and was very quiet ( on the opposite side of the Inn from the restaurant and bar). There is no elevator at the Logan Inn and there are 2 long flights of stairs to get to the 3rd floor.
We ate at the Logan Inn Restaurant on Saturday night (8pm). We had an outside table overlooking Main St. The outdoor patio is beautiful this time of year and gets even nicer as the sun goes down. If it gets cool there are gas heaters to warm things up. I had the Chilean Sea Bass and my wife had a Carribean Breeze salad with blackened shrimp. Mine was very good but my wife said hers was the best she's ever had. The service was just ok. The waiters and waitresses work as a 2 person team. Our waitress was wonderful but the waiter had the personality of a rock.
Overall, the Logan Inn is a little pricey but is one of the better places to stay and eat in the New Hope area.

“Great Place to stay and dine”

This is the place to stay when in New Hope, PA. The staff is courteous and accommodating. The rooms are comfortable. The Tavern staff is friendly. The restaurant staff is equally friendly, courteous and accommodating--whether you dine on the porch or outdoor patio. The food is great. In all the years I have dined at Logan Inn, every meal was supurb. The Tavern dinner specials can't be beat. Logan Inn also has live entertainment.
