“Great it was like staying with Grandparents”

Mim and Jim were great. The whole place is fantastic! The rooms we stayed in were older but very clean. The bathroom was updated, the small shower would be my only complanint, however in an old farm house the shower would be small.

Home cooked breakfast every morning, with the chance to "work" on the farm is great for kids of all ages. You can gather eggs, feed the sheep, goats and horses. Take a hayride or just relax. We had a blast and Mim and Jim treated us like family. There were 2 other families there with us and we built great friendships. There was never a lack of service from Mim or Jim!

I would recommend this for any family vacation in the Lancaster area. Nice centeral point to visit Amish areas, Hersey and Gettysburg! If you come this way this is a must!

“Best Vacation Spot”

This was absolutely the BEST -- most relaxing and fun vacation our family has had! Jim and Mim were terrific! They welcomed us with open arms and were great with our 2 year old. There was so much to do, both on the farm and in the surrounding area! The farm was extremely nice -- many animals to pet, feed, eggs to gather, hayride everyday to the dairy farm. The room was very neat and clean. Breakfast was delicious! There were trampolines and swings for the kids. Even an ATV ride! If you want to stay in Lancaster Co. and want an experience you and your children will never forget, stay at Country Log House and Farm. We can't wait to go back!

“Great from start to finish!”

it was our first time at a working farm and we didnt know what to expect- but we were blown away! First- The rooms were soooooo clean. The whole property was clean- and that's hard to expect at a farm. Jim and Mim are great hosts. Very friendly. We had a busy weekend planned - and the kids could not stop talking about the farm- The morning chores were fun-so many animals and things to do the kids did not want to stay indoors- Breakfast is wonderful too- so much food and YUM!!! - We hated to leave but had booked the next night at the Eden resort so that we could enjoy the pool- but the kids kept saying next time we just stay at the farm the whole time. What a great experience.

“Great breakfast with clean and comfortable rooms”

At the end of our trip we all agreed this place was our favorite place to stay on our vacation to the Lancaster area. The owners treated our children with such kindest. Epicurious.com fans will love Mim's great country gormet cooking. We traveled with young children and they got up with the roosters without alarm clocks to feed the animals, gather eggs, eat breakfast, view newborn kittens, and go on the hayrides. (So parent, don't plan on sleeping in!) We had a hard time pulling them away from the farm in the mornings to go to the amusement parks. We also got to visit other farms in the extended family and see calves born and modern milking machines at work. Each hayride was a different adventure with something new happening each day. On our next visit to the Lancaster area, we'll plan our vacation around their availability, avoid the expensive cramped hotels, and make the extra drive to Country Log House Farm. Thanks so much to Jim and Mim Brubaker!

“Can't Wait To Go Back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2009

Our family stayed at the Country Log House and Farm for 3 nights at the end of July 2009. We had an amazing time. Mim and Jim are super gracious hosts. Breakfast was such a treat. On our three days there Mim made everyting from scrabled eggs, fruit salad, pancakes, bacon, sausage and quiche to apple crisp and baked oatmeal. My 2 year old son waited anxiously every morning for Jim to ring the breakfast bell so that we could go eat. He also loved the animals, the hayride, the kittens and chasing fireflies at night. The rooms were nicely appointed and comfortable and had air conditioning which was nice since it was very humid when we were there. We stayed in the Garden Room for 2 nights. The only negative was that I didn't realize that the bathroom was on the floor above (which only mattered because i dont like my son to be around too many stairs). However the bathroom was private and had a mini fridge which was nice. We stayed in the Loft Room the 3rd night. The bathroom was a bit small but only because my husband is over 6 feet tall. The room was great, it had two full size beds and in addition to a mini fridge it also had a sink and microwave. The location is quiet and peaceful but close enough (20-30 mins) from the attractions that we wanted to see (Dutch Wonderland / Strasburg Railroad). They even had a swingset and trampoline for the older kids. Already planning to go back!
